I loved this place, could of spent a fortune on the garden ornaments, herons, flamingos, owls, pigs etc, also pictures of highland coos etc and basket ware, the food was amazing! ???????? Loved the little teapot my Earl Gray tea (real tea leaves) was served in! We will be back there at some point! Xx
3rd July 2022,
This is the 1st time we've been back since the pandemic & it was all change in the restaurant, my hubby & I loved the VW campervan, volkswaggon beetle, vesper etc wallpaper & the jukebox music radio on the fireplace.
I had a fruit scone with butter & jam & a glass of SevenUp & my hubby had a pot of tea & a slice of Victoria sponge cake, all very yummy, we will be back at some point, ???????? ????
Enjoyed our little stop just off the main road
We stopped here for lunch in the tearoom. Lovely place, great decor, friendly staff and tasty food. Very good menu catering for veggies as well. I will agree with other reviewers that the building as a whole is very off-putting, it's very run down and there's odd units inside that are closed and some open. Seems very disconnected. Could do with a good tidy up. Building and amenities 2/5 , tearoom 5/5 :).
Very disappointed that my cappuccino was a packet one. Tea was brought with milk in it which meant you couldn't put in the amount you want.
I hadn't been here in a year or more.
It looks ready for demolition.
Unkempt, neglected, and grubby outside. Inside, it looks like it's being turned into a beauty treatment place with one of the road facing, large windowed retail units unlit used to store old clothing.
It has potential but needs to be smartened up outside and given an identity.
Will it be little retail units or just beauty treatments and hairdressers?
Personally, I don't understand why there is a very large and very empty cafe taking up so much floor space either.
The new owners need to decide what direction it's going to take. Beauty and wellness hub, or individual retail units.
The latter has been tried for several years and failed.
It's too out of the way, not on the way to anywhere.
Nice clean place, with fresh cooked food. And lovely service..shall go back again..
Much improved with the new owners. Lovely breakfast, bit of a wait as it's all cooked to order but we'll worth waiting for. All the little shops are much nicer and a lovely garden centre as well.
Fantastic place to look round with great little shops, the food is great and staff are really helpful.definitely going again
