Such great vibes, with plenty of smiles! Food is absolutely delicious. I recommend the New York deli or The Joey, Perfect combination ???????? The hot chocolates are also the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had!
I walked into the bakery today and ordered, The "Joey".
A sandwich with a nod to the 80s show friends.
Toasted sourdough, swiss cheese, pickles, pastrami, chicken and American mustard.
I savoured every, single, bite. Worth every penny. Highly recommend to anybody hankering for a delicious sandwich/baguette/roll.
You won't be disappointed with a trip to Shenfield Bakery. Its been there years, since I was a kid and now I'm nearing 40 so they know what they are doing.

I’ve just moved to the area and tried this bakery for lunch. This was their stingy salt beef bagel. I wasn’t expecting it to be piled on like a lot of places do, but for £5 I would expect more than one small measly slice. The bagel wasn’t even nice either, it was too dry. Half of the staff in there were friendly though (the others just seemed grumpy.) I’ve since discovered another bakery so have no reason to go back here.
Had been frequenting another bakery in the area but their customer service was pretty off. However, this bakery not only has a great selection of produce that's always been of excellent quality when I've visited, but their customer service is superb. Always full of smiles and know how to make a customer feel welcome.
Had my first experience at this shop this morning. Had a sausage & cheese muffin and a hot chocolate. Nothing negative to say!! Absolutely scrumptious muffin. Hot chocolate was lovely too. And the 2 ladies in the bakery was lovely and such good service. Made me feel welcome & were very friendly. A joy to see so early in the morning. I can’t believe I have never been to this bakery before & definitely will be coming back to try more (especially the cakes ????). Thank you again!!
Brie, Bacon & Avocado sandwich. Completely flavourless. Bacon was microwaved & burnt black. Chocolate twist was still frozen in the middle. I would have enjoyed a Tesco, (opposite), meal deal more, plus it would have been half the price.
This place used to be really good, one to avoid now.

• Crispy is very different to burnt, perhaps retraining can help them identify this?
• A staff member did go & buy an avocado from Tesco, but your stock control shouldn’t be that bad. I should note another team member did point out to the person making the sandwich that the proposed avocado had been out since the weekend…. At least someone knows what their doing, I wish they had made my sandwich.
• Frozen, is frozen, very different from cold. A clue is ice crystals. Perhaps check your refrigerator settings?
• Why should I have to bring my food back? That’s no way to deal with quality control, make it right first time & there wouldn’t be an issue.
• You surely don’t really want me standing there telling you that your food isn’t good in front of customers? I don’t mind doing it, but the reach of that would only affect 10 people max, where as this is visible to thousands & a permanent record of this failure.
Great little bakery, lovely food. All the ladies who work in their are very friendly. Service with a smile, I highly recommend this bakers.
