Edit: We visited here the second time for a family member’s birthday. Unfortunately I had to reduce the score as it took 3h to get served for 8 people. We tried all sorts of curry and most tasted bland as well. The staff members there were friendly and lovely but were very slow. Maybe because we went there on a Monday evening.
14/11/23The curry lacked umami, but the portions were huge, and all the staff there were all nice and efficient. I could tell they’re running their business with pride, it’s nice to see aspirational restaurants like this one.
Visited on Sunday for our anniversary. Very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is nicely decorated and modern but warm, with very nice seating areas. We had the banquet and ordered one each but this was too much. Next time we'll share a banquet and add a couple of side dishes. The food was tasty and the portions were generous with plenty of meat unlike some other restaurants that are stingy. It was fairly quiet but we really enjoyed it & will definitely be returning. It's lovely to have a restaurant like this in Blyth.
From the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we stepped back out, the customer service was Outstanding.
The food was just as great.
We will thoroughly enjoyed our time tonight and will definitely return. Thank you for wonderful food and hospitality.

Unreal the food is so fresh and leaves you wanting more and more! So tasty! Most definitely worth a visit and I would say a must try! Staff are great and the service is great the food is great what more can you ask for!
Fantastic meal. Had the special on a Thursday then following week had a meal. Both were beautiful, good portions great friendly staff in a very nice atmosphere. Best Indians in Blyth area. Highly recommend.
One word...superb!!
We never thought we would ever find an Indian restaurant that met up to the meal we had in Manchester a few years ago but this excelled it by a mile. Staff were so friendly and attentive, rhe restaurant is beautiful and tastefully decorated, the food came out piping hot and well presented, and tasted exceptionally good. could not have asked for anything better. We will be recommending to all of our family and friends. Thank you again for such a lovely evening
Lovely family pre birthday meal tonight at Shangri-la. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. The food is of an excellent standard. Very tasty dishes. Thank you for a lovely meal
We visited after the restaurant had only been opened for business for 11 days. They've nailed it. Welcoming, relaxing surroundings. Service excellent, and the food we had was delicious, with generous servings. We had booked for early in the evening but it was filling up fast, so making a reservation is recommended.
