Salt & chilli chicken was rather lovely and the chips as well, loved the wee box they came in aha, nice touch. Loved the fried rice as well as I have found with other places it’s not always like fried rice/not as good. Pleased with my meal.. wasn’t sure what the curry sauce would be like because it was different colour to my usual but was also really good. Thanks :) !
New owners not friendly at all.very pricy now.everything is separate so had to order chicken curryand rice and chips making it expensive..chicken was ok .ive never had a worse curry sauce..to thin more like dishwater. Really poor
By far our favourite take away in Blantyre.
Phoned for a take away, asked to come for it in 10 minutes, so I'm thinking great is quiet and it's getting cooked fresh for me, emmm
Soup warm enough to slurp from the container without any cooling
Ribs were nice, nothing to mention there
Chicken Chow Mein had the darkest chicken I've ever seen, I mean so dark I thought it was burnt beef ends to begin with, so much Soy it's unreal
Prawn Crackers were damp, had about 3 of them, bin!
Be a while, a long while till I'm back there, if I am that it, just thought I'd try it since every other Chinese seems to have changed hands and not for the better.
Oh well back to The Shanghai Teahouse it is, but of a travel but well worth it.

Love it! Salt & chilli chicken is the best I've tasted. Curry sauce is lovely, not to thick and not to runny. Never had a bad meal! Would recommend this takeaway 100%. Lady on the phone is a delight, always cheery and helpful which is a huge bonus!
Only ordered chicken wings and rice chips and curry sauce in 1 tray. It cost me nearly £8 and I got 6 wings and a handful of chips and a handful of rice with some sauce, not a whole lot for the money really. The sauce wasnt the best curry sauce I have tasted. I would try it again but probably not for a while.

Best curry about, a little bit more expensive than other Takeaways , especially there munchy boxes, but you get what you pay for. Just wish they did Just eat or something similar even if it was just for Pick up orders, sometimes ig is a nighmare to get through on the Telephone.
