Shane's Chippy is the best around, by far, sounds like an old cliche but I say it with conviction, The warmers are always fully stocked up with a variety of sides, chips are absolutely amazing with a very generous portion! The prices are incredibly low and the staff are just so absolutely friendly with nothing being an effort, go there once and you'll never go anywhere again! A chippy with the rarity of having a passion for what they do!
Bought for a friend and dropped off otherwise I would have returned the food. He was very disappointed. Batter on the fish wasn’t cooked and the cheese on the chips had a funny taste, said it was powdery. Girl behind the counter was lovely but won’t be returning.
Unfortunately had to change my review of 5 stars. Used Shanes for many years in Brynmawr and Ebbw Vale. Have been very disappointed over the past 6 months with the Ebbw Vale branch. Cold overcooked and undercooked chips at the same time, how does that happen? Batter undercooked and insipid, gravy solid and overly gelatinous. I would understand if it was a one off but it isn't. Very disappointing.

Chips were tasty, portion sizes are great.. service was good.. prices are reasonable.
One criticism. Don't wrap the chips so tight. Almost made them into mash potato..
But will deff be returning. So far your my go to place in Ebbw vale

Lovely food cooked perfectly always. Great portion size and value for money. Staff always happy and polite and have a chat.
Great fish and chips , big portion of chips the fish was massive and the curry sauce was extremely nice.
