Great local takeaway. Had a small fish & chips- right size for me and really good quality fish cooked fresh. All the other food in there chicken, kebab etc. look great. The lads who run the place are doing a fantastic job -will come again when in Brum.
The food is described in such a colourful way that you would assume it's some of the best you will ever have.
Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations, especially when you factor in the price of how much you are paying.
The chips were average, and order notes for salt and vinegar were not followed unfortunately.
The beef burger was well over cooked with the patty being quite thin, took a very char grilled flavour overpowering the burger.
The kebab was fresh and the meat was of good quality, but the flavours of the Sizzler Kebab were quite bland given the colourful description of how amazing it should be. It was just a few added cooked onions and peppers.
Overall disappointed, but not the worst food but certainly not the best. For the price I expected better.
EDIT. I have never rang the store and wow did not expect such an awful reply. I am glad you replied as now I will never order again. You really need to work on your customer service. You contradicted yourself saying you follow order notes when clearly you don't. This is not a way to run a business.
Had many places in my time, Hands down this place does the best food i’ve ever had the fish and chips is easily the best in brum, the fish and chips was delicious and extremely well priced. well done lads i’ll be back soon with the whole family !!!
Used Uber eats to order a doner wrap and chips. Food was delivered really quickly. The wrap itself was a little dry but the doner meat was quite succulent. Chips were ok too.
It's a bit of a walk for me to get to, but we'll worth the trip. Bostin food, great service and a nice clean shop. I had mixed kebab and chips and it was great. Must try the fish next visit.
Ordered large kebab and chips for collection. My first time trying this shop. Polite young man greeted me as I entered shop. The food was nice, donner was not greasy and the portion size was right. I would come here again.
Honestly one of the best food i’ve had while in birmingham, extremely high quality and the donner was really the best i’ve had, the fish and chips was also amazing !!! service was also great 2 young lads working hard and its good to see. Will be back with the whole family definitely. Thank you Shaks !!
I was craving some good fresh Fish & Chips, and remembered Shak’s was a place I wanted to try. I am extremely pleased I did, because the fish and chips I received was the best in a long time. Order was made fresh to order as I didn’t mind waiting. Lovely chips with delicious crispy batter on the succulent cod fish and curry sauce just finished it off nicely. Customer service was great, the young lad Ibraheem was friendly and welcoming. I recommend to all who want fresh and tasty food. I will definitely be visiting again.
