Went on a school trip here, The were lots of bugs and the food was awful tbh except the breakfast. The rooms were ok a bit dusty but the staff were really good and we had lots of activities to do.It was quite an enjoyable trip. There is also lots of outdoor space which is really nice
Enjoyed a brilliant week here as part of a KS3/4 french language trip. The accomodation and food were fantastic and we were very well looked after by Jo and his team. Excursions were well planned and supported by Zaël. Free time is catered for with a high quality games room, sports ground and lovely grounds.
Would absolutely come back for either language or history trips.
I’ve just returned from spending 5 days at Château d’Ebblinghem with a group of about 40, 12-15 year olds. This was my 3rd visit and we were again very happy with our stay. Staff have clearly been working hard to make improvements in certain areas.
Accommodation - rooms were clean and a good size.
Grounds - well kept and spacious.
Food - very good, including options for those with special diets.
Activities - very good choice of planned activities as well as plenty to do during free-time.
Games room - this had been refurbished since our last visit - lots of free games eg pool, table football, air hockey.
Staff - very welcoming and hospitable. Special mention to Joe and Zaël - nothing was too much trouble for them.
Insects - it’s in the countryside so what can you expect!
I’m sure we’ll be back!
I really enjoyed my stay at the SAS Le Chateau d'EBBlNGHEM with the school
I liked the rooms I stayed in and the beds
And also I enjoyed the food and trying out the french food
I enjoyed doing the cheese tasting and the snail tasting of course
The view outside the bedroom window was very amazing
I enjoyed doing shopping in St Omer France
And the archery tag and trying to throw the arrows as far as we could
And making our own lunch and taking it out having on the grass
I had a very lovely time in St Omer France
I think the food was amazing and very tasty to be honest with you
I had a lovely experience in St Omer France for 3 nights and a few days too
I enjoyed spending time with my friends and classmates

It feels like you had 2 stars ratings for a long time
i stayed here in may. i was on a school trip. i thought it would be worse but it was actually okay. the trip was fun. the staff were nice, making sure we ate. i stayed in the chateau on the left as you come in its the first one, other than having fun outside, the games room was pretty empty and the food was plain. overall it was a nice experience.
I went here for a school trip this week for 3 nights and 4 days fully enjoyed it I was proud of myself for trying a snail that I never did before and loved how friendly all the staff at the hotel were to me and my peers I want to thank Sammy the leader of my group for the 4days I really enjoyed all the activities and trying the snail and cheese tasting too and going to the town in France I would love to come back thanks for an amazing 3 nights and 4 days I really did love it I went her woth school for a residential trip on the 29th April Monday till 2nd May Thursday I really loved all of it it was a brilliant experience for me Coz never been before thanks for all the fun things we did in those days
When I first came to this place I looked at the reviews which obviously aren't positive. This is a honest review from my stay between the 9th -11th November. Firstly I stayed on the top floor in the main building. The windows leaked and it was raining so water dripped onto the beds. The shower smelt funky and was dirty. Staff are ok. Beds are comfy. Food was ok it made my friend throw up though I wouldn't recommend the dinner. Cafeteria floor isn't clean and whole place feels kinda outdated. Games room is ok but didn't use it much. There is a football pitch but couldn't use cause of the weather. If you don't care about how clean it is then it's fine. The reviews are a bit exaggerated. Obviously everyone's room and experience will be different but this is my opinion.
Would be 4 stars if cleanliness was better but overall a decent stay for only 2 nights.
Staff were nice and helpful and one of the highlights were the lunch where we could choose our toppings on a baguette for lunch and it was delicious
But the rooms were extremely small for 4 people and there were mound and stains on the walls
Also not to mention that there were literal holes or ditches in the football field that could be very hazardous as someone in our class got hurt when playing football.
Overall it’s decent and basically the only choice you get near the ww2 battlegrounds for your school trip so not bad ????
