Best fish and chips I have tasted in a long time! Beautifully cooked chips the fish was freshly cooked. Looking forward to trying more from the menu. Can order in advance, can have it delivered, but we are lucky enough to have the place 2 minutes away. They have won an award for 2023 and well deserved, I would definitely recommend.
Had a lovely burger from here this week. Was so impressed to find somewhere doing proper meaty burgers in the day time. Fast delivery. Lovely food and even custom made to my preferences. Friendly staff and good prices.
Wow. Arriving late on a Monday into Portland, there's not many options, and we saw this place's name and had a chuckle and thought, "how can you go wrong for some decent fish in a seaside resort close to docks". Well. You absolutely can.
Firstly, the staff were terribly inattentive, there was no one in the shop waiting, and it still took over ten mins to order, as when they finally emerged, they were tending to an online order. The wait for the food was inexplicably another 20 mins after that.
The chips were over fried and hollow, yet managed at the same time to be soggy, the fish was grey (obviously NOT fresh) and also managed to be cold, which was also mind boggling. Portion sizes were also tiny. One plus, however, the tartar sauce was nice. Hence the 1 star.
Avoid. There's a reason this place isn't on TripAdvisor, and the Facebook review page is a heavily curated echo chamber. Honestly Salty Towers, get your act sorted out.
Really good selection of food types, not just fish and chips. Burgers, Veggie options etc. Haddock was spot on and chips, massive portion and nice and crispy. Will be back, and they are also award winning ????. Add to that, friendly staff.
Chips were lovely, fish not nice at all,extremely greasy, texture not right and not sure it was even cod as ordered so wouldn't go there again.
Chips are very nice here. Fish needed a bit longer and the tt sauce was predominantly mayo. But staff are nice enough and the service was spot on. My friend had the burger and said it was lovely. So I'd probably have the burger & chips next time. Thank you.
Hoping we just came on an off night. We were so excited for a chippy dinner while on holiday especially with the awards this chip shop has got. unfortunately all of it was pretty average and the fish was thin , not flakey and the batter greasy.
Lovely food, great service. A little wait but food cooked fresh so well worth the wait! Every time
