Lovely cafe and farm shop, they have a good range of interesting food using local produce.
Food was ok but had better. The setting of the place is nice, staff friendly but could have been more attentive, service was slow.
Very attentive staff, well spaced tables and felt very safe during our visit. Simple menu which was fantastic for all three courses and very well priced. Small resultant where you are able to see into the kitchen, excellent wine and great location. Will definitely be back next time we are on the East coast.
A lovely, tranquil setting for lunch. The food is top quality. Cakes were delicious. I had a scone that was huge & about the best I've had anywhere. Lovely coffee so I had to have another. Service was okay, not super fast, but I understand they're hiring new staff & have a new supervisor who I know will whip things into shape. Highly recommended - we'll be back.
Had mixed experiences at this place.
The latest was fairly typical: we booked a table for lunch on a Saturday, which wasn't really necessary as it was quiet.
The menu was very limited, which was a shame, but possibly explained why it was not busy.
The burgers and chips we had were very good, but the price charged was not what was on the only menu, which was displayed at the counter.
Guess the extra 40% was for eating in, but surely that should be clearly displayed!
Ordered cake and coffee afterwards; the cake was dry and the coffees were forgotten until my wife reminded them.
We keep going back, hoping it will return to the great place it was.
Maybe when things go back to normal!
They hosted a wonderful party for my parents’ wedding anniversary.
The service was fantastic, the staff were helpful, really friendly and decorated the venue so beautifully.
The food was absolutely outstanding.
The venue itself is gorgeous. Can not recommend highly enough and wish them every success in their continued growth.
Good Covid procedures with one way system in operation. Good selection of light bites, well presented and tasty. Impressive display of cakes to choose from, can recommend the walnut and date scone! It was a case of find a table then order at the counter although it wasn't very obvious on entry. Staff were very polite and friendly. Toilets all clean but despite a member of staff using them some minutes beforehand they were left with no toilet roll, so make sure you carry your own tissues!
This was our third visit to the granary and our second for breakfast in the last week. On a positive note the breakfasts and coffee were excellent and good quality products. The service was polite and friendly. However, the speed of service, especially on our latest visit was deplorable and the reason for the two star rating. Our party of four adults, a ten year old and a baby arrived at about 10:15am. Drinks were ordered and our food order was taken by 10:25. Two large breakfasts, a medium breakfast, poached eggs with cream cheese and avocado, and a scone. Drinks arrived promptly, but after contacting the waitress the food arrived one hour later at 11:30am! What was particularly annoying was that people that arrived after us had been served before us, and a couple that arrived thirty minutes after us and ordered breakfasts had theirs delivered two minutes after us. There was an apology from the waitress for the wait, but although we were asked if we wanted more drinks, these were not offered as complimentary to support the apology for the delay. Hence we had no drinks with our breakfast, as these had arrive and been drunk an hour earlier! The Granary was not particularly busy at the time of our visit, there appeared to be plenty of staff, so suspect this is an organisational issue that needs to be rectified quickly. From previous reviews doesn't look that this is the first time this has happened. We will more than likely visit again, but if our next experience is not a big improvement on yesterday, it will be our last.
