Always fast and friendly service at Ruby’s. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious and what makes it even more impressive is the speed at which the chefs work to prepare it. We often order 5-6 meals in the restaurant and we usually never end up waiting longer than 10 minutes, despite the fact that the phone never stops ringing. Personally, I think that’s incredible service, and would just like to thank all the hardworking and professional staff that work at Ruby’s for all the delicious Chinese meals they’ve served us over many happy returns.
I took some pictures of our last meal from there because there aren’t many on Google Reviews and I think that’s a shame, because Ruby’s really does make some of the best Chinese food I’ve experienced. We are very lucky to have such a fine establishment in Uttoxeter.
Ordered take away in the shop. Got back to a near by bnb 5 minutes drive down the road they had missed rice from our order, food was only luke warm so didn't want to go back just for rice. Staff seamed stressed and we witnessed staff being rude to a customer who had phoned in a order and they had no record of this. Lucky I don't live here as I wouldn't go back
This was our first time at Ruby's and sadly we cannot provide a review that is 100% beaming with goodness.
Service was really good and people running it was really nice and accommodating. The food was ordered as a walk in and was cooked within 10-15 minutes. Although really speedy i think this is where the problem lies. Food was not hot when we got it home (we live about 5 minutes away by car) and all the food was bland, there was no real taste to anything besides sweet and sour sauce. Ribs in the appetiser were tiny and about an inch long.. The Singapore noodles had no taste and no heat (spice) as I would have expected.
I will say however good size of potions ie chicken, beef and prawns in the mixed curry and the Szechuan Chicken was acutally very nice and the only hot (temp) part of the meal.
We spent £50-£60, I dont think we would return due to the expense and the meal was not 100% satisfactory.
I am only sorry we could not leave a more positive review but do feel this is balanced and reflected our experience
One of the best Salt and Pepper chicken's I've had. Hot and Sour soup superb too. Plus you walk in and get greeted by massive smiles, which is always a plus. Great little establishment

The ribs were really meaty the chicken chow mien was lovely as was everything else

Ordered a large takeaway for a group of us tonight- placed order at 19:35, by 19:50 was at my door. All the food I’d ordered was piping hot and tasting amazing.
Usually use MR Woo but found recently it hasn’t been as good.

Delivery over an hour late. Called at 5.10pm to place order which we were told would be with us between 6.45 and 7.15. Called at 7.20 and was told was out with the driver. Called again at 7.50 and was again told was out with the driver. Asked if they could check with driver and call back. No call back but driver called to say he couldn't find us after offering when ordering what three words location and them laughing at this idea. Asked if maybe a £3 discount could be offered after total order was £43 was told by the driver he couldn't do that but could take the food back. Absolute disgrace and when we called the Ruby was told they got busy and weren't bothered at all. Great customer service......not. won't bother again
UPDATE; received call from the manager today who was very apologetic. Very appreciative that she took the time to speak to us, thank you Ruby
Very pleasant staff, good menu, meal was soon done as I had opted to collect I didn't have to wait long. I normally have it delivered and that is a good service. I would have given 5 star's, but on this occasion I was given fried onions instead of fried mushrooms. Fortunately I love onions and they were delicious.
