This company has very low standards when it comes to customer service. You'd be much better off picking up your medicine from in town. The manager certainly needs some retraining into how to run a pharmacy, she's not up to the task and reacts aggressively to any complaints you may have. 40 minute waits, long queues outside in the cold and the rain. You would think that they might erect some kind of cover or awning but this wouldn't occur to them Then when you get inside they don't have your prescription ready or they can't find your medicine as their organisation and filing system is chaotic so you're made to wait again in one of the corners. The staff there are working hard, but they also don't understand how things are organised, they're looking everywhere for your stuff then they go back to the computer, then into the back, then they have to ask someone. Things have not got better in the last 6 months, they have not reorganised themselves. They're constantly short-staffed which is perhaps not surprising as the culture of the company seems rather toxic. The manager doesn't take kindly to these observations and reacts aggressively. She needs to undergo some training. I've sent an letter/email to their complaints departments and have had no response.
Wouldn't sell me anything labelled medical, including supplements. Said without the pharmacist present all I'd be able to buy are toothpaste and nit combs. What's the point of a pharmacy that doesn't sell pharmacy items?
I’ve been using rowlands for years and had great praise for them, but the past two years has been a nightmare , this week on Monday they had to wait for a pharmacist to come from London , then Friday from Peterborough. Apparently they rely on agency as no one qualified to give medication. This obviously frustrates people desperate for their medication. The staff just close and lock the doors and sit and wait for the agency to arrive after telling everyone waiting out side that they are ‘negative’ for not understanding . People are not getting their medication on time that perhaps maybe where the negativity comes from ? you only have to read the reviews on here and social media to see this service is failing people . the way this chemist is being run needs to be looked into as people are being neglected. There’s one lady who works at the front that could really benefit with some training in customer service skills (she’s not been there too long , just turned up with a attitude as if she’s right and customers have no right to question the failures , . Our GP recommend us to change so we don’t have to deal with this every month . I feel sorry for the staff that have been there for years trying to deal with this situation, they are being badly let down . This situation can’t just be blamed on the pandemic although I’m sure it’s increased a lot of pressure but it’s been going on way before that ! Who ever runs this service should feel ashamed of themselves for letting people and their own staff down. People not receiving medication on time is neglect . I hope this pharmacy is looked into and if you’d like any feed back from other customers I’d be willing to send all comments into to you !
Well done Sharon, at the St Johns Road , Dorchester branch. She went above and beyond normal duty trying to sort out my ‘emergency’ prescription, even as far as going round to the Prince of Wales surgery to see if the doctor had actually sent the prescription across. She searched the car park and found me waiting in my car and kept me up to date with progress. WELL DONE Sharon. Thank you very much
Absolutely disgraceful the way I was treated by the young man on the counter! I first was told to shut the door behind me! I said oh sorry thought you had to have a door open these days! He then muttered something! Then challenged me not wearing a mask and told me it’s mandatory! Didn’t ask the reason why I wasn’t wearing one! Very rude customer service! I collect medicine from here every few weeks and the customer service is getting worse!!! Sort the staff out and the automatic door!!!!
Used to go here and had some bad experiences, but recently some friends have been and said that things were a lot better. So I thought I’d give it another go. I’m not sure what has changed there but the whole experience was very pleasurable and clean. Kudos will keep recommending
The lady I spoke to today was extremely helpful as I was so unsure on what medication was needed for an allergy she allowed me to return the medication if it wasn’t correct. Every patient, friendly, put me at ease and gave excellent advice. Strongly recommend
Never have prescriptions ready on time, home delivery service is appalling, you can wait up to 2 weeks to get medication. Never call if there's an issue with obtaining medication, so you can deal with the problem asap especially if you need to see a doctor regarding it and appointments can take a while to get. Person serving on till has no clue what he's doing and is unhelpful, would not recommend if you want a fast service.
