Booking by phone was straightforward. Rossini's is down a small track that leads to the River Thames and has a small car park. In the summer this is sure to fill up swiftly. We arrived a little before opening time but were nevertheless shown to our table which was at the front with a view through the full length glass sliding doors overlooking the Thames giving us panoramic views.
Useful info: Arrive early and book well in advance in the summer and sunny weekends. There is plenty of open seating outside facing the river. Access is fine for wheelchairs. Restrooms were clean. Parents with children must be aware that Rossini's is on the waterfront.
Our drink order was taken and served followed by our lunch order. The chef kindly made a complimentary hors d'oeuvres with dips along with dough balls - delicious.
Our main courses were delicious - the photos do not do justice to the flavours, and cooked to perfection. The Tiramisu was excellent and my fellow diner loved the coffee with vanilla ice cream.
Service was really attentive and professional. Overall the meal was outstanding such that my fellow diner planned to bring his wife here for an upcoming occasion - that says it all !
Very formal but very, very good! It might not be the best place to bring little children but staff are nice and it's in a nice location next to the Thames River but also not far away from the town of Goring.
We visited this restaurant some time ago but were very disappointed with the attitude of the staff and the incredibly small portions. On a walk along the Thames today we noticed that this restaurant had changed its name to Rossini Leatherne Bottel. We called in and were delighted to meet Guido and decided to stay for lunch. It could not be more different. The menu is quite amazing and very reasonably priced. We ordered the chef's specials which were absolutely delicious. Guido and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The location is just breath taking with outdoor seating on the very edge of the Thames. We will definitely be back again.
"Relax, this isn't a French restaurant"
Absolutely superb, beautiful setting right by the river where it feels like you can see for miles up and down the river. A heavenly place for a summer drink followed by a truly individual dining experience.
We found the food beautifully prepared and very reasonable. The service was attentive and very warm/welcoming. It was a fair drive for us but I know we'll be back!
Lovely meal in a beautiful setting. Interesting and authentic Italian menu. Excellent service helped keep our 2 year old happy. No tip added to the bill as the manager explained they prefer to be tipped as per what people feel they want to give.
We stopped here when looking for a pub to have a couple of drinks when we were sailing from benson. We arrived and basically the lady upon arrival rudely told the 4 of us they were fully booked and she wasn’t too keen on letting us have a drink. It was opening night and cannot believe how unwelcoming she was. The chef was happily chatty and the setting was beautiful just a shame about the front of house staff.
The fillet steaks that I and my wife enjoyed were amazing. I can certainly recommend the one with mushrooms. The steaks were huge - if you're tempted by a side dish, then I would recommend sharing. Excellent service.
Really great meal. Had seafood pasta as starter. Looked like a main course portion it was so big. Rich, tomatoey, spicy; full of clams, mussels, calamari and topped with a giant prawn. Absolutely delicious. Then simple grilled Dover Sole. Quality. No room for dessert. Outstanding Maitre D’. Drank the Gavi which went well with the seafood and the fish. Not a cheap evening but worth every penny.
