I have been going to this hidden gem for a while now and have always been pleasantly surprised by the quality of not only the food but the service.
My usual order is there renowned fish and chips that everyone seems to love and you would understand why once you try it. The chips are tasty and fresh in a decent sized portion. The cod is just a treat. Always well cooked to order, looks appetising and keeps me and the misses full and only takes around 7 minutes which goes by fast talking to the polite chap at the counter.
Other than the fish and chips the chicken breast is a go to and try it with the tartar sauce you won’t regret it.
Overall, lovely people lovely food and simply a local safe haven that I know I can rely on when I can’t be bothered to cook.
The service was good considering it was fairly busy. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're getting fish. Re fried and it smelt of old oil all went in the bin. Chips were decent and portion sizes are decent but i can't justify paying for re heated re fried fish that's sat under a heat lamp.
Ordered “chicken curry off the bone” it tasted like frozen chicken that had just been cut up. The curry sauce was tasteless. Chips were soggy. Fish was dripping with oil. Disappointed as I’d heard that this was a great place for food. Price was okay and the food was hot upon arrival.
Terrible - attitude of chap frying food when asked how long my order might be! Thought he wanted to fight me And who the heck in a fish and chip shop cooks to order! Fish was oily and flabby chips peas were nice , never darken their doors again .
Had fish and chips, fish was cooked to order, huge, crispy and beautifully flaky! Chips were well cooked, I like the vinegar from the spray bottle, it gives a nice even covering. The portion overall was huge for 1, I would suggest it would easily feed 2, I had to eat mine in 2 sittings! Will definitely be going back
One of the greatest fish and chips I've ever tasted, in all honesty! Good portions and reasonable prices make the staff very welcoming.
