I stay 20 yards away from this new Indian and only just tonight decided we would give it a go. Firstly I love an Idian as long as it is fresh and tasty I look for a party in my mouth. I decided to try something I have never tried before and OMG I was so happy with the reslult I ordered Lahorie Karahi and it had so much flavour with fresh Coriander to finish it off along with this I had the Pashwari Nan it wasnt the best nan I have had I profer a more sweeter stickier nan however the added coconut flavour was nice. Ayr India has been my favourite Indian in Ayr since day one really untill now RIVER COTTAGE you have a new life long customer. One added note is when I collected my order I was greeted so pleasently also added 2 popodoms and a lovely mango chutney to my order. My wife had the Lamb pasanda which she thought was brilliant she would without doubt order the dish again.

Fantastic meal and staff. The dishes are so fresh and full of flavour, you can tell the chef has a real passion. The staff catered to our needs and the Madras is the stand out dish.
Definitely worth a try. We travel 10 miles to get a takeaway. Best in the area by far!
Had dinner here last week with my cousin and his wife. Absolutely delicious. Portions generous, service excellent. Money wise, extremely reasonable compared to other Indian restaurants in town. People do not know what they are missing by not frequenting this restaurant. Personally I cannot wait to return, but will have to starve myself first to enjoy their portions.
We use your restaurant regularly but last night was absolutely shocking!…you knew there was 13 of us coming for a meal! Service was absolutely appalling from the kitchen. Food coming out in drips and drabs…making lots of mistakes, having to be asked several times where peoples orders were, …really really poor. Your food is delicious but when I raised my concerns your answer is the staff..no staff are lovely…you need to be more organised..you then say you were actually going to tell me to go elsewhere the night before our booking as you knew you couldn’t cope !!..seriously!!??…..please please sort this out !
I had the buffet lunch today 9/9/20. The food was well cooked and had enough kick without being overpowered by chilli powder, which in my humble opinion, destroys the ability of the taste buds to detect the individual spices used during the cooking process.
Three starters were on offer, chicken pakora, vegetable pakora and chicken tikka. I sampled all three and they were spot on, having a flavoursome balance of spices!
Main meals available were chicken korma, chicken balti and lamb curry. This time I settled for the lamb curry and chicken balti along with rice and nan bread. The lamb in the curry was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. The chicken balti had a superb taste, with individual flavours coming through, coriander being one of them.
If I remember correctly it was £6.95 a head, which is excellent value, especially if you are of a mind to pack in as much grub as possible. I must confess, I had to raise the white flag after only one round!
I’ll be back in the very near future, as I found the food and service to be first class. Oh, last thing to remember, if you wish to drink alcohol with your meal, please bring it along as it’s not sold in house. I’m assuming this is due to the absence of a drinks license. On the plus side you’re going save a small fortune, as we all know it’s expensive to purchase alcohol at restaurant prices.
Food was ok but when you wait for 2 hours and then they can’t deliver all of your order it’s disappointing. I was promised the rest of my order would be sent out but I’m still waiting so that lets you know what they think of their customers. Poor to say the least, you won’t be seeing any more of my money.
Really enjoyed the sharing starter and chicken jalfrazi, the wife had the chicken butter handi which I really liked, good size portions and staff were very attentive. Went at 6pm Sunday night the place was dead, strange. Will be back.
Nothing wrong with my food but when you get a link & it states all orders will receive 10% off all on line orders £24 odd & it gives 27pence off, when enquired the answer was we dont know anything about it but you can have another bottle of juice....stick it wont be back
