On the way home from a family day out in Filey. Stopped to get food for 15 of us.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were not fazed by our big order.
They wrote done each persons order and when the food was ready they wrap them all individually including the sides. Making it was for us to dish out once back at the mini bus.
The food was delicious and very generous portion size.
While waiting for our food I decided to order some teas and vinegar, they didn’t have any salt to but we were offered a pot of salt to take with us.
Definitely would recommend, my father even commented “I wonder if they would delivery” (to Leeds!)
Visited here many years ago and was lovely, but unfortunately I cannot say the same now. After a long journey from Leeds Airport we thought we would call in for a fish. I placed the order for 2 regular haddock at £5.20 each which seemed quite reasonable, counter staff seemed quite shy but pleasant. After a wait of around 10 minutes we received our fish wrapped up as requested.
We decided to drive a bit further to eat them, what a mistake !!
At first sight they didn't look too bad but that was it. They were very thin only about 1cm thick, there was very little fish and just hard batter at the 'tail' end.
Very overcooked, dry and the batter was greasy but hard, requested salt and vinegar but couldn't taste either of them.
Threw most of them away, and they repeated all night had to take gaviscon. Definitely looked a bit better than tasted, one of the worst fish we've had in a long time.
if we'd have had them open I would have taken them back
Consistently the best fish and chips we get as a family.
Always perfectly cooked
Service quick, efficient and friendly
Well done all and thank you
Previous visits had been OK/Good but unfortunately one of the most awful meals I have had recently. The burger was cheap, and I suppose you get what you pay for. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. As for the fish and chips, it was undercooked, drenched in oil, soggy and full of bones. The whole family felt off after a few mouthfuls.
Probably the best chippy in the area, one of the very few in the county that cook nice chips, although they did run out last time I was there! Staff are friendly enough although I did have to ask to be served.
Called tonight 3rd May on way to caravan not busy but over 1/2 hour wait unbelievable !!! and staff not bothered at all we will not call again
ABSOLUTELY the best fish, chips and peas we have EVER had!
Went in at 7pm didn't get out until 7.40pm, poor service, frozen chips, peas like bullets, sausages were the only nice bit.
