Really enjoyed our Friday evening. 6 of us seated at a round table which was great for chatting.
Food was really good, service from Stuart and Janine excellent. Friendly and welcoming.
Close to home for us as well, so I'm sure we will be visiting again.
Highly recommend.
Fabulous Gasto pub in the Shireoaks village. Food is delicious. Great place to meet friends for a drink or stop after a stroll along the canal. Sunday dinner is a must, best Yorkshire puds around!
Had a couple of drinks with my lovely nephew. Smashing welcome, had a good giggle with the hosts. Sat outdoors on a rare balmy evening. Had already eaten but the food menu looked good. Recommended.
Update. Have eaten here a few times now and it is brilliant. The owner/ maitre d is gorgeous. So friendly and welcoming. Great veggie options and the puds and cheese board are all divine.
Lovely little spot. Walked along the canal and was very lucky with the weather so we sat outside (in November). Pizza was very heavy on the cheese but tasty and the pork belly bites were so delicious. Good coffee too.
Atmosphere and service was great, the food was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Walked from Dinnington to Shireoaks today to visit Retreat, while the menu was limited to just pizza it was delicious, the host was lovely and we will be back
Beautiful food and great service
Will definitely been going back
Me, my mum and brother went on a walk down the canal, on our way back me and my mum popped into the off licence next door while my brother said he was popping into the toilet in this cafe. When me and my mum exited the shop there was a man waiting for us who asked if the person in the toilet was with us and how old he was. My mum said he was 24 thinking it was to do with having to be over 18 to go inside. The man then started berating my mum about people using the toilet and what bills he has to pay and that 14 people used the toilet yesterday without buying anything. At this point my brother came back out from the toilet and my mum told the man to tell my brother and not her as she wasn't the one that used the toilet. The man ignored my brother and continued being rude and shouting at my mum. I piped up and told him to calm down as it was just a wee but he continued being very rude.
He was very rude and lost some potential customers for my brother using the toilet. He also told us the toilets are cleaned every hour, I don't think one person using the toilets are going to affect his hourly cleaning of the toilet. He also must have been spying on us walking past to see that we were together but if he spent less time berating people for using the toilets and more time serving customers he would not have to worry about people using them for free.
He seemed to have an agenda against my mum and I'm guessing women as me and my brother were stood there but he singled out my mum. I am a young male and I am taught to respect others but this struck a nerve with me as I bet he wouldn't have talked to me like that or my dad like that if we were to use the toilets.
I have never wrote a review before but this annoyed me, I would recommend to steer clear from this establishment.
