So glad I paid a visit to this place. As a foreigner who didn’t grow up having roast dinners on a weekly basis, I was so happy to try them here. Absolutely delicious. ???? The pub is small but really cozy, nice decor, chill vibes. Staff were helpful and smiling. Prices are reasonable. Overall it was a very good experience and I will definitely return.
Absolutely stunning food. Best roast dinner I've had, gorgeous sticky toffee pudding and amazing (and large!) cocktail. 10/10.
What a great place. Visiting from Derby for a Sunday roast and it didn't disappoint. Prices were reasonable and food exceptional. Left with a satisfied and very full Belly.
I was completely impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the exceptional service, and especially the food. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the ribs as it was burger night, but I was thoroughly satisfied with my choice. I opted for the German burger, which consisted of bratwurst, beef patties, onions, and sauerkraut. It was absolutely delicious.
Quite stylish pub on the inside and seems to be really popular. The toilets amused me with the witty remarks all over and the nice design. There is a real fireplace in the bar area too and very cosy and comfy sitters. Food was enjoyable.
The Remarkable Hare, or should I call it The Unremarkable Hare.
Pleasant staff, and a nice ambience in the dining room. It gave unrenovated Bill’s but without the decorations and raffia. Prices are a bit high for what it is flavour and excitement wise. The portions were large however they should focus on reducing the quantity and increasing the quality of the food. That’s just my opinion though. When we asked for a drinks menu they said they didn’t have one, only food menus which seemed a bit strange.…
I had the half chicken with chips, which were good and honestly the chicken was massive. It was massive, probably half was bigger than a whole small chicken so defiantly worth the price. It had kind of a smoky a barbecue flavour to it which was odd but not unpleasant and it was moist not dry. In fact it was a very nice moist chicken which was good.
A number of my friends had the pie of the day, can’t remember the flavour, with one calling it a bit sweaty and salty - I don’t think they were very impressed. To be honest, I think I was a regret. I was told the mash was a bit sticky - as if they had used the wrong potato. Maybe next time use a Maris Piper. Just a suggestion.
In terms of the burger, we asked for the one with all the regular toppings but the veggie patties with bacon on the side and the bacon was not on the side.
They kindly brought ketchup and mayo without being asked which was nice however I did also ask for spicy mayo with my chicken and received only chilli sauce.
However, as I said staff were nice and pleasant and the service was fast enough. I thought the piano as a table is quite fun. We were suggested this by someone (after we had already been) so it is probably one of the best for the area.
Doesn't look massively inviting from outside, but after reading reviews though we'd give it a try. Must say, we were very impressed. Tuesday evening, quite busy but got a table straight away for two plus 1 doggy. Good selection of beers/lagers on tap. Menu had too much to think about and the sight of the meals being taken past us from the kitchen only confirmed we had come to a good pub. Portion sizes are quite big, so be prepared. I had one of the best pies I've ever eaten, with chicken, mushroom and lots of tarragon, served with veg, mash and gorgeous thick gravy. Lots of different choices on the menu to choose from and everything we saw looked amazing with many people overheard saying how good their meal was. Highly, highly recommend, plus they allow dogs and provide, water bowls, blankets and treats???? Loved it, ten stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
we came back after near a year. the half roasted chicken was good. the mixed grill did not worth £32, the sausages and egg were too small, it could be better, if the portion size is larger and includes salad
we arrived 1:15pm on wednesday, the restaurant area was already full. we luckily found a table shared with one person in the bar area. the menu is quite comprehensive and in reasonable price. the pan fried pheasant was delicious. the pitmaster puzza was also good and enough for two people.
