used to be a 'go to' but it's getting more common to have bad quality from here.
Chips were horrible, mixture of overcooked and undercooked, brown soft and soggy.
fish smelt very fishy when I dug in through the batter, and the batter on both fish and sausage was not at all crispy.
quick service, and curry sauce smelt nice. but not much of a bonus when I had nothing to put it on.
This was bad enough that I won't be going back, not worth the risk.
We've been longtime fans of the Milburn but honestly this is the worst takeaway I've ever had. Kung Po, tastes of pepper and chilli. Nothing else. Shredded chilli chicken tasted like tomato ketchup. The bairn thought the chicken and black bean sauce was "burnt". Never again????
Disgusting, inedible sweet n sour chicken! Doesn’t deserve even 1 star! Batter so thick, overcooked and tastes rank! You could break teeth batter so hard!!
Phoned to complain… extremely rude, unapologetic and unacceptable attitude of the woman I spoke to!! Told as I didn’t complain on the night of delivery there was nothing that could be done!! Told her I tried phoning but line busy… probably others complaining… no matter.. just tough!! Well we’ll see about that… reporting to trading standards… they are not addressing their poor cooking standards and not compensating customers!! Dreadful lack of respect for customers needs to end… staff involved need sacking or you’re going bust!!
Chips soggy, curry sauce tastes like Bisto curry sauce, from a "chineese". Got a sausage supper and it came with 2 tiny unbattered breakfast sausages like you would get out of weatherspoons. No salt on anything. Phoned up to complain and got told that's just how the sausages are then got a goodbye. You go to any other chip shop and the sausages are 2.5x the length and battered. Rip off, disappointed.
Bad customer service this time. Always had good service form here except the last two times I ordered. I ordered the chicken fillets because they don't have batter on them but the last two times they came in batter. I called to say I asked for the fillets and they say they have changed the way they do them, but have not disclosed this on their site. So twice I have been left without and when I called I was told I was lying and they have always had batter on them. I order them because my stomach doesn't do good with batter.
It arrived 2 hours late...we were at our parents who live a short distance up the road. We had discovered that it had been sitting at a neighbours for 25mins...when it got to us the chips where cold and the chippy boxes where soaking. We phoned to say we would come and collect fresh chips and chip suppers....the Chinese food seemed to be fine. When I got that back to the house it did not taste fresh...I could swear they just took the old food and put in new box and wrapping. I had a white pudding supper...it was tepid at best and battered soggy. For something that was to be cooked fresh again after a 2 hour wait I would expect better.... it was awful. I felt bad for the girl working there ....she seemed to be over worked and under staffed. Management may want to think about this...instead of customers waiting so long on a week night and receiving cold awful food. ????
This restraunt has gone down hill. Ordered from them as Mr Rice was closed, and food was mediocre at best, and poor for most of it.
Chips were stale, cold, and cut too thin, and had a fishy taste as they've clearly come from the chip shop next door and been done in the same oil as the cod. Chicken balls were over cooked and 85% batter. Ribs were pretty much chargrilled, and the special fried rice was dry, tasteless and the meat was really fatty and cheap tasting.
All very disappointing since we collected and had to wait for the food at 18:30, no reason for it to have been cold or over cooked. Even the portion sizes are small compared to other take aways
I would avoid this take away and go elsewhere, there are plenty of better options.
My girlfriend orderd a munchie box and a noodles dish online using just eat.
I got concerned when I read some of the past reviews on delivery times and quality of the food.
It arrived on the time specified and the food was very good. Could not fault any of it.
