Very friendly local pub and excellent looking accommodation. Beautiful hand pulled beer plus a good selection of other lager/cider/keg beer. Lovely warm atmosphere.
What a lovely stay. Joan our host was such a kind, caring and thoughtful host. She made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.The room was cozy. The breakfast was delicious. Our first visit but certainly not our last. Thank you x
We stayed with Joan and Richard for two nights with the intent of touring North Wales on our motor bikes. They were tremendously welcoming in this wonderful cozy pub. Joan's food was lovely and plentiful. The beer was great and plentiful ( sore head but self inflicted!) The room was very comfy and spotless, all in all a fantastic base for our tour thank yo so much for having us. we will definitely be back when we head this way next! Tim, Simon and Neil
Myself and the Mrs came for for an evening meal as we are staying in a cottage down the road. We both ordered the steak and ale pie. Wow. There was more than enough food for us both and it was bloody stunning!! Highly recommended for decent pub grub.
We booked the Red Lion as we were attending a wedding nearby, not knowing much about the village or the area. It was a very pleasant surprise. The owner couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome. She cooked us a delicious evening meal and breakfasts. The pub is obviously popular with the locals but the room was nice and quiet. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. We're considering returning for a weekend away in the near future because we enjoyed it so much.
Great place, oldy worldy, lovely landlord/ lady, friendly locals. Lovely place. The home cooked food was lovely and the whole atmosphere was welcoming. The surrounding hills and fields are a lovely walk. The room was clean and roomy and nothing was any trouble at all.

We decided to book the Red as we were visiting Powis Castle and thought we'd make a weekend of it. Well I have one word, Fabulous! What a brilliant night, we were made to feel so welcome just like one of the locals, I would return and book the night again just to have a night out in the Red we enjoyed it so much!The food was fabulous all home made. Th beef came from Joan's own cattle and wow it was delicious! The beer was fast flowing and we laughed all night!, We had a brilliant nights sleep and the breakfast the next morning set us up for the day
