Back again after a year. Another great night drinking and chatting. Great vibe| Very busy. Comfortable rooms out back ???? one of the best pubs I've ever been in. Very eclectic crowd ranging from local football team to male voice choir. Majority Welsh speaking which is fine....(they'll speak English to you)
Staggered into Llansanan while walking the N Wales Pilgrims Way. It was an oasis on a hot day. The girl behind the bar was helpful and after a chat with the owner I was given a room out back at a reasonable rate. The room was clean and the shower most welcome. Best thing about the place are the locals and owners (Leon?...I'm terrible at remembering names so apologies if I'm wrong) I was up quite late drinking good beer and chatting rugby etc. Everyone made me feel welcome and made an allowance for me by speaking in English. It was probably the highlight of my walk. I'd love to go back. A cracking little pub - all too rare these days.
We found this wonderful old Inn/pub on a small rural road while looking for a place to stay in Wales. What a delight. Beautiful old pub. Great room with king size bed. They have 3 rooms, out behind pub on main level. Very nice. Very inexpensive. Incredible breakfast included with price. It was a weeknight and we were only ones eating dinner. It was delicious. Owners super friendly and nice. I left my coat there. Couldn't return to get it so they mailed it, no charge, to our cousins in England where we picked it up later. Locals in pub friendly and fun to talk to. Highly recommend. Would go back again in a minute!
We stayed in the self contained apartment with a mixture of family including a toddler. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. The food was great although do order early if there's a big crowd as we waited a long time due to it all being cooked from scratch. Breakfast was excellent too. The only thing that might be a problem for some was the noise that came up from the bar as the flat is directly above the pool room but it all stopped just after midnight. We would definitely go back as the bar had a great sociable atmosphere and we liked all the traditional elements - the brasses, copper pots, snug etc. We really felt at home and liked the ethos of the place - they held Welsh lessons, computer lessons and various other community based activities there as well. A great focus for the locals as well as the tourists.
Excellent basic food thanks to Jackie. Room was clean and well presented. Nice and quiet ,good nights sleep. |The regulars in the bar were very friendly and siarad Cymraeg hefyd. The draught bitter was excellent and there was a fun quiz the night I stayed (Wednesday)
Called in for a meal while staying in a nearby cottage. We didn't realise but you should book the day before if requiring meals. Nevertheless we were welcomed and offered a good choice of items on the menu. We both had lamb shank which was excellent along with a good quantity of tasty well cooked vegetables. Very friendly welcoming owners. Cosy friendly village pub well worth calling in.
We stayed here for one, The room was lovely and well worth the money, excellent breakfast. From the minute we walked in Chris and Jackie made us feel so welcome, The pub was also very friendly lovely warn atmosphere. As it was a week day only me and my husband had dinner in the dinning room, the food was excellent and so good value for money. Cant wait to go back.
