Rooms are clean and of a decent size. Walk in shower was a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent with everything you could want. We had a voucher which included a three course meal and was significantly better than other hotels that have had the same offer. The bar could do with a bigger variety of beer. The spa and pool are both good quality.
We spent one evening here for a Murder Mystery event. The accommodation was spacious with lovely countryside views from two aspects of the room. We had an evening meal which was pleasant enough, mass catering but food served hot and was of good quality. The breakfast was buffet style and again of good quality.
Plenty parking here and a swimming pool etc for those who like the sort of thing.
Catering for weddings and parties this place is geared up for all sorts of things and provides good service and food.
Murder mystery weekend was fabulous. Went with family and friends had such a laugh. The hotel was lovely and clean with good facillaties. The event meal was three courses with good choice. Breakfast was buffet style with lots to choose from. The staff were lovely too.
Friends and I stayed on Sunday 1 May following a Murder Mystery evening. The staff at check-in were friendly and helpful and moved one of my friends and me to a ground floor room as I have mobility problems - this was done without being asked. The room was clean and the beds were comfy but we were unable to turn on the heating and felt that the general decor was a little dated. We had a 3 course meal during the Murder Mystery evening which we all enjoyed. However, the star of the show has to be the fantastic buffet breakfast with a fantastic choice of hot and cold food.
The hotel dining room is in need of refurbishment and some of the gym equipment needs replacing as you cannot adjust some equipment in order to use it properly. The spa facilities are good, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. I do recommend the massage. The rooms are well equipped, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. The food is good, breakfast is plentiful and I've yet to have a poor evening meal, always leaving absolutely stuffed.
Sept 2018 stayed here again. There has been some changes, name change for one. The most significant change however, is the total refurbishment of the dining room, so much nicer. ???????? The food is as good as ever, the staff are lovely and very accommodating. Also the broken gym equipment has been repaired/replaced. So once again a delightful couple of days break.
Friendly & helpful staff. Great facility for a conference or group event. Breakfast is done well, and the restaurant / bar are both of good quality. Dog-friendly. Family rooms are a decent size. Handy to the A1 without being bothered by traffic noise.
We only visited this hotel for a birthday party during the evening, so it is difficult to make a real assessment of the facilities. However, I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful and the facilities were fairly modern and comfortable. there is a large carpark here, so it can accommodate some party-goers as well as the hotel guests.
Hotel bar was busy, with a nice buzz, but friendly. We were always served quickly , albeit range of beers was a little limited. We had food laid on for our do and although it is difficult to make assessment because we do not know what was paid for the spread, on the whole the quality was good, although the quiche was only just defrosted enough to eat, so it was very cold and unpalatable as such. On the whole a good experience.
Good infrastructure and nice venue for small size conferences. Did not see much staff around but was not too bothered. Catering (coffees and juices) was inadequate. The orange juice was vile and the coffee was just warm (and of quite cheap taste may I add). Would Strongly recommend some minor changes to ensure the overall experience is more pleasurable. Definitely going back for meetings and conferences.
