This is a proper tea room. Really tasty food and excellent service all in a quaint setting. Cheese scone was fantastic and I loved the way the Tuna Melt was done. Will defo be visiting again before the holiday ends!!
My first time at Rachel's. I decided to indulge a bit and started off with a Cornish pasty. It was a very good Cornish pasty! I think even a Cornish person wouldn't have reason to complain! Next up I had the coronation chicken sandwich. Again, it was delicious and very satisfying. I then decided to finish up with a cream tea, which unfortunately was not up to par with the previous two dishes. The helping of cream and jam was fine, plenty to cover both sides of the scone adequately. The issue I had was with the scone itself; it was a bit dry (could have been old) and for a fruit scone, it didn't have much fruit. It was perfectly edible, just not as enjoyable as I would have liked. The staff were friendly and kind, and the environment was fine. I would definitely recommend it to a friend, and will be visiting again soon I'm sure.
OMG! I’m sooo happy! Not only able to have a gorgeous soya milk latte, but also a gluten free lovely spiced tea cake with lacto free (vegan) spread. I’m on a super-restricted diet and never get all this in one place usually. Lovely staff, calm and gentle atmosphere. Just what I needed. Highly recommend ????I don’t live locally. I popped in here needing a break from visiting my sick mum in the local care home. Batteries recharged and ready to go again. Thank you Rachel’s!
We’re here on a Saturday (market day). The place completely full and people waiting for a table. The WiFi very very slow. Sep 2022 Awesome place for cakes, scones and coffee everything was delicious and they have a wide selection of cakes made on the premises. Very friendly staff and fast service. The breakfast menu looks really good but we didn’t try it so can’t comment
We hadn’t planned to visit South Molton but I’m very glad that we did. It’s a lovely town and our lunch at Rachel’s Bakery made the visit.
Food, service and atmosphere were all first class as were the cakes we chose to take home for the rest of the family.
Thanks to all for a great lunch, we will visit again.
The best bacon & egg sandwich in Devon and believe me I have tried most cafes and butty bars.
You get what you pay for and it applies here; it wouldn't be a spot to get a morning butty each day as when you include a coffee you are approaching the £10 mark however as a weekly treat it is worth every penny.
The cakes and buns are a thing of beauty and amaze me each time I pop in.
Always great.
Staff helpful & friendly.
Food tasty.
Best book a table at peak times
Blown away by the quality of food and the efficiency and warmth of the serving team! They made space for my large family of 7, making us feel very welcome and at ease. Very classic menu and every dish was prepared ‘just how you want it’! Excellent kids menu too. So glad we chose this place as we were passing through and thoroughly recommend. Will definitely return!!
