AMAZING!
So pleased that the QH is back open again and refurbished with a new menu.
Very friendly staff, lovely ambience inside.
Brandy pate: best pate I’ve had in years
Duck rolls: very good and crispy
Steak and chips: really juicy and flavoursome steak, large portion too!
All the food had a lovely homemade feel.
Can’t wait to go back and bring friends and family.
Fish and chips: perfectly cooked.
Fantastic food - plenty of it ! Excellent service!
Gteat value for money. Highly recommend the Sunday roast.
Went to Queens Head on an impromptu visit. Very welcoming to us and the dog. Lovely atmosphere even though quiet as weekday lunch. We all had the 2 course special, portions were big, food was excellent. Jess, our server was attentive and friendly.
My local cute village pub.
The girl serving us was so lovely.
The only thing letting this place down is the menu. I'm vegetarian, and so there was very little to choose from, and when I decided on the mushrooms, they didn't have any. The lovely girl serving us was going back and forth to the kitchen when we were asking her if the kitchen staff could do this or that. Not once did she get annoyed by asking for our requests.
Unfortunately, I didn't get her name. She was naturally very sweet and smiley.
Thank you to the lovely (pink hair) girl. You saved the business.
Food was amazing but the service definitely needs some work. Long wait to order drinks, when the food arrived we weren’t asked if we’d like anything else or anymore drinks, the waiter just put the food down and walked off. We finally got someone’s attention to ask for more drinks and sauces etc. Then again another long wait to get the bill and even the card machine! Music being skipped/ changed every 5 minutes. These little things just add up and can easily ruin someone’s experience at a lovely pub.
Excellent Sunday roast lunch. Between us we had lamb, pork, beef and chicken roasts. All delicious and huuuuge. Yorkshire puddings were slightly overdone hence why the 4 rather than 5 stars. And the fact that the background music was too loud. And a wafer with my ice-cream (delicious) would have been perfect. My nephew thoroughly enjoyed his sticky toffee pudding and custard.
But very happy with the lunch and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back.
I can thoroughly recommend Queen's Head for its excellent ambience and the wonderful food. In particular the chateaubriand and the sticky toffee pudding were exceptional. The staff were friendly and engaging and very professional. We were even indulged with both custard and ice cream (delicious) served with the pudding. All in all a very enjoyable experience, well done to QH.
We ordered two burgers from their very attractive menu. They took a long time to arrive even though we were one of two tables during the service. My husband enjoyed his but mine unfortunately was served raw. We both like our burgers pink so are not squeamish in the slightest but this wouldn’t even be classed as blue. We eat out a lot and this is the first meal I have ever sent back. No wonder people don’t like doing so as you are made to feel like you are in the wrong for making a fuss. After a long wait my plate was returned. The burger was now pink at least but the bun was drenched in blood. They hadn’t thought to put it on a fresh plate or provide clean cutlery, simply served the entire meal as I had handed it to them but with an ever so slightly more cooked burger. Honestly I was so put off by this point I could barely touch it (which is saying something for me). I hate to write negative reviews as I know the effect they can have on businesses struggling to survive during this time but I’m just so disappointed by the experience. They didn’t even offer an apology.
