Best KPortal Reviews

It is supposed to be 2-3 stars but I will give 4 stars on the end and this is why:
1- On several occasions I have been waiting in emergency for more than 13 hours, sitting on the floor, there was space but not enough chairs supplied - zero stars for this!
2- coming with my son with an eye injury, things we sorted on the top level- 5 stars for that.
3- My gallbladder removal went well but they did not checked the hepatic duct at the same time and so after that I have been several times on emergency on my Holiday and take time off from work as the stone was still there so - 2 stars for that.
4- After a series of different types of scans and Gastroscopy etc they finally found out that the stone remained in the bile duct. The operation went fine, there were some complications like the inserted PD stent fell out but they removed the stone so that is good job done although someone give me a statement/review to write one hour after the operation I did what I was asked to do but on such an amount on sedation is unlikely I would write with a clear mind and say my honest opinion. ( the paperwork I have received explaining the procedure says do not sign and legal documents for at least 24 hours after the operation) Now, I know that the service statement/review I was given an hour after the operation is not a legal document but if something goes wrong they would say that I actually said that I am very happy with the services provided etc… so giving this to write to a patient on sedation and other medication is wrong in my opinion.
This type of forms should be sent to home after a week to see if there were any complications! Not an hour after the operation and minutes after you wake up.
So the doctor, nurses and staff is a 5 stars! but whoever gave me this form to fill is seriously deserves zero stars and some training;)
Overall, the doctors, nurses and hospital staff are amazing the only downside is the waiting time and attention to detail. Someone has to coordinate things better to avoid mistakes, or simply add more chairs when required the so patients won't sit on the floor in an emergency for 14 hours.
My visit to the Adult Emergency Department was a positive experience overall, mainly due to the compassionate and helpful nature of the reception staff and volunteers. As my first emergency visit in the UK, I was guided warmly, which was greatly appreciated. After booking in, my wait time was around 2 hours. The attending doctor, a tall male whose name seemed to be Chris (I apologize for not recalling it exactly due to the rush), showed remarkable patience. Considering English is not my first language, he explained everything slowly and clearly. He was very respectful of my privacy and showed genuine care throughout the process. The meticulous attention given to cleaning and dressing my wound, as well as the thorough aftercare instructions, left me deeply satisfied with the service provided.
I took my mother-in-law for treatment on her eyes. The main entrance toilets were filthy. No paper and nothing to wash your hands with. They smelt terrible. The hospital was really shabby . The cafe at the entrance had dirty tables and the floor was filthy. The whole hospital was very tired and run down. No excuse for cleanliness though. It's not a hospital I would want to be in.
Been sat in A&e for 6 hours with my daughter who is in significant pain. I have asked the receptionist twice where she is in the queue 1st time I was told the longest perosn waiting was 7 hours bearing in mind i heard her tell the person before 6. I went back up and hour later to be told the longest person waiting is over 10 hours. So bascially making up her own times.
My daughter is in absolute agony i have requested if it would be ok for her to lay down in the car as she is in significant pain to be told on reception no she cant do that. A nurse told me before it was fine. No communication, giving false information and no empathy. I understand the strain on the system but people are actually suffering here for long periods of time and no empathy and lies.
We are currently still sat waiting and im watching my daughter in significant pain that no one seems to care about!
There's a receptionist called Abigail in the A&E department who is extremely rude. My sister was trying to tell her that her A&E records haven't been sent to her GP so she's not able to receive any prescriptions for the pain that she is in. This receptionist, Abigail, says "I've just started my shift and I can't help you with this". If you can't do the job, find someone who can, I don't care that you've just started your shift, do your job well, do better! Ridiculous!!!! Anyways, someone else picked up the phone and talked us through the procedure nicely.
Absolute worst staff in B26, stayed 2 days 2 nights there.
Rude and arrogant staff both on Day and night shift ;
There was only one helpful one which I had 0 issues with which was Aisha.
Others were extremely rude and mistreated me.
Came and offered food, I asked for something and the dinner lady was so rude said “for who?” “She needs to be eating”, etc.
Not to mention few hours after my wifes C section , they were offering her beans, curries and other foods that are extremely hard to digest. 0 knowledge and 0 professionalism
Didnt offer me a blanket or even a pillow
I asked for a blanket and waited and havent received it , i had to grab it myself from the linen cupboard which Im not supposed to enter.
Few nurses came and were extremely rude telling me wife needs rest and I need to look after the baby ; hinting that shes doing everything im doing nothing (when in reality we both were awake during days and nights , i did everything apart from breastfeeding ofc.)
And overall hard to deal with staff.
Lady took our water jugs, to refill, and waited absolute ages so went to get them myself because we were both thirsty.
Then dinner lady also came while my mum was here and was lecturing me about taking care of my wife making her eat, etc etc. And when said I do everything she sarcastically said “u do everything u sure” and laughing.
I went to have a quick shower, the shower room had blood marks all over the floor, after my shower I had to inform them to clean it so my wife can have a normal hygienic shower.
Baby crying, i laid it down nurse telling me it needs to be picked up, i told her he had some problems with passing wind and poop but she kept insisting on just picking him up to stop crying, i then decided to do what i thought and helped him move his legs about and he ended up pooping alot.
Nurses coming in and out , leaving curtains open when they were closed prior their entrance.
And kept getting lectured about the baby from one nurse do this dont do this etc etc, which most was rubbish. Like i said above.
My wife and I tried to get baby to go to sleep on Night2, however he kept wanting to be fed, once finished, if we moved him he would cry and want to go back.
So we agreed that ill use that time to have some rest ; i slept for an hour or so not sure, a nurse comes in and says to her
That I need to be helping, im here to help not sleep, and that she needs rest and that i might as well go home
I got super aggravated and wanted to start an argument. That was by far the most ignorant, and rude statement said by any staff so far.
My point in all of this;
Support for the Mum ,
0 support for the Dad , even putting more pressure and stress than hes already going through.
Went to the adult walk in A&E on Friday, what a fantastic team of caring people! The doctor Natalie gave a thorough assessment and then we ended in neurology with excellent care and support from the team!
From my last time going to ED they are just passive and either laugh off patients conditions or just mock patients whilat they are waiting.
Don't get me wrong there are a few great doctors I may have seen, one who was good but he didn't go the extra to see that Im seen to his name was Nick.
Usually I wouldn't write a review, if there were not some good experiences I would let it slide but this one cut the sandwich real deep.
The other probably trainee nurses or medical students were low or shallow in patient care there is probably very few doctors in ED wards.
There is a thing called MEDICAL GASLIGHTING as to where you make things up on patients records, anyone who goes here I wish you best of luck, tho I would get as far away from this hospital as possible.
