Friendly & efficient service. Great Fish & Chips with what I consider to be generous portions. Shared Parking with Tesco so lots of choice with the bonus of being able to pop in at the same to pick something up very quickly while you wait. Although phoning ahead is an option.
Quality of the chinese food has dramatically gone down here. Ordered the set meal for one last night with the large chicken chow mein and had to play hunt the chicken. There was one of the sweet & sour chicken pieces missing. I also asked for a larger sweet and sour sauce, I asked for the sauce to be made thicker and it was just like water. Awful. Lastly the amount of MSG used in the food was over powering. Time to go elsewhere I think!
DO NOT GET FOOD FROM HERE. I would put zero stars if I could. You first struggle to order as the staff don’t understand their own menu, then when your food does come it’s wrong and luke warm. The quality of the meat and fish is poor and is so greasy it genuinely makes you feel sick afterwards. When ordering a vegetarian option you would like to think you would get what you ordered but no, here they got my order wrong and I was given a meat option. So was left to eat just chips for dinner. I didn’t bother calling back to complain as this happen again a few months ago and the old lady who is usually in there was volatile straight away and wouldn’t offer me a refund or even to cook me what I originally ordered! Customer service is shocking. There are way better fish and chip shops in Braintree, it’s worth the drive instead of going to this awful, disgusting place.
The last two times I've been they have forgotten a portion of chips. The food we did have was very tasty and a decent portion.
This used to be my favourite Chinese . Had it last night . The black bean sauce was like water and the sweet and sour sauce is always thick it was like water also . A portion of chips I got about 20 chips . A disgrace
This is a good all-round takeaway it sells good quality Chinese food and traditional English fish and chips. Every dish I have bought has been very good.
The prices charged are quite reasonable about £6 for medium cod and chips.
The nice thing about this takeaway is it is next to Notley Tesco and it opens at 5pm. So you can pop into Tesco and do some shopping after work then go to this takeaway and grab some food if you do not feel like cooking.
One thing to note this takeaway is cash only. This isn't a problem though there are cash machines at Tesco,s.

Great fish and chips but the place is definitely in need of complete refurbishment. Additionally, it's about time they started taking payment by card rather than sticking to cash only
I grew up in great notley until I was 25 and would always have a weekly takeaway from this chip shop growing up, they are so lovely and nice and they have the best curry sauce I have ever tasted. Sadly I moved quite a distance a way and still wish I could order from these guys, they made a huge impact on my chip shop tastes, always comparing to them haha.
