Missed opportunity to be great. Location and exclusivity is amazing. However let down by pricing and quality of food.
£21 for one portion of fish/chips and a single serving of whitebait. The fish was warm (not hot) and the chips were an insult to potato farmers everywhere! Whitebait was lovely in balance.
It’s outdoor eating but there was a section under parasols. Right on the Promenade as the Name suggests.
Initially we stopped by for tea and cakes mid morning. As the food and atmosphere was so nice we returned later in the afternoon for late afternoon lunch. Fish and chips were delicious golden battered fish with chips with tartare and curry sauces.
The service was order at the counter and a alarm device was given and buzzed when the food was ready for collection at the counter. There was also alcoholic drinks available. Which we decided to try overlooking the beach. It’s a dog and wheelchair friendly place. Highly recommend !
Finally I was unable to add any food recommendations as the sos and bacon roll wouldn’t delete on google !
Stopped for fish & chips
The fish wouldn't pass as mini all batter and the worst frozen fries ive had and £11. For the privilege
Never again
We were looking for a place that served fish and chips - that was cooked separately from other food items. All the other fish & chip eateries were unable to accommodate apart from Prom Diner.
We were so relieved as we’d begun to lose hope!!
Lovely food.
Visited twice during the day, first just for coffee. Lady behind the counter was very pleasant and I have to say that the coffee was nice and hot. Due to this experience we decided to eat there later in the day. No problem finding a seat both ordered fish and chips (well you have to don't you). You get a pager that goes off when your order is ready for you to collect. Not sure if fish was freshly cooked but it took a little longer to arrive than expected. Chips were ok but the fish, though rather on the small size, was beautifully cooked. Location is what sells this place, right on the promenade with a great view of the sea. Purely because of the portion size we may try somewhere else next time we visit.
Overpriced with a long wait for stone-cold food. Disappointing treat for us. Did not feel as though we could complain as we have in the past and been met with aggression from the manager/owner. We were hoping it may have improved over time but it has not.
Such a friendly group of people from the top to the newest member of staff. I haven't actually eaten here but observing the empty plates, I can deduce it's good. I'm going to miss them when they close for the winter.
Only had a coffee and a panini. Panini quite average but coffee was great. I like they have buzzers so you wait for your food at the table. Would be nice if they brought the food over.
The buzzers actually do become rather annoying as at busy times the buzzers just keep sounding all over the place.
