Visited here whilst on holiday in Wales. It is in a beautiful location, with old priory remains framing the very attractive pub and gardens. The landlady's first words of "welcome" were "we don't do food and we don't take cards"!! So I was a bit taken aback, but decided to stay for a drink and luckily and unusually I had cash in my purse. Having got over that hurdle it turned out that the landlady was, in fact a very lovely lady and the regulars made us very welcome. Good to know that it was a truly dog friendly venue, my pooch was made to feel welcome too. We are very pleased that we made a refreshment stop here.
Walked in for a drink. Were met with unfriendly stares and silence from the clientele and landlord. Waited to see if things got better, but were ignored. So walked back out again. Don’t bother going.
Had a nice walk from the marina up behind tescos to the priory inn. What a nice place! Beautiful setting, friendly service, friendly locals, all you could ask for. N.B. Cash Only.
A beautiful building. 1000yr old.
Landlady was miserable. Moaned how she hated working there. It was cash only and they didn't serve food. My lemonade was totally flat and tasted like water.
First time visiting after a walk with my mate, great pint and a lovely barmaid definitely be back
Lovely old pub that's a sun trap beautiful to sit about an enjoy a cold drink ????????????????????????????
We would have come here for a drink due to the wonderful location and how the place looks from the outside. Inside is a different matter. Bland, characterless and absolutely no choice of decent real ale at all. We were greeted by a rather miserable lady who we presume was the landlady, who grumpily said to us “Waddya want?!” After we discovered that they don’t do food or take cards we decided to move on and went to the excellent Jolly Sailor near Pembroke instead. A real shame as it’s in such a wonderful place. It’s as if they’ve made a real effort to make it rubbish.
What a shame. Great location, large gardens. However, a dog that had to be put on a lead because it didn't like other dogs, through to being informed that the choice of bitter was Worthington's or nothing. ( incidentally, the Worthington's was way too cold ). Do these people not realise the potential or cannot be bothered to make any effort to be successful? Sad situation
