£4.50 ice cream on cone was felt a bit dear but it was a large portion and tasted good
Came across this place when walking from Dovedale car park.....and so pleased I did!! Fantastic, friendly and accommodating service.
The woman who services me (presumably Poly!), couldn't help us enough, and was really talkative and helpful. The coffee tasted fantastic too. Situated right near the river too, and a couple of benches to sit on and watch the wildlife in and around the stream.
Beautiful ice creams and hot chocolate. Lovely lady from Ilam served us. Can you advertise your winter opening hours so we can call in after school with my grandchildren.
An amazing place to visit, with Polly's Cottage offering such a great choice of snacks and drinks. We came first many years ago and I can say it never disappoints. Young lady was very very nice, thankyou ????
It is an adorable place with some hot food, postcards and magnets. Great ice creams. It closes at 4:30pm
This place was a life saver. Homemade sausage rolls and other pastries. It's in the middle of nowhere and we were flagging. Came across this window shop , which is cute in itself and the homemade grub and coffee was simply yummy
Fantastic little place. Has loads of options to keep you going on a long walk . My favourite is the hot Staffordshire pasty ????
We stopped off during our walk from Dovedale stepping stones
We visited Dovedale on a weekday so the dale was very quiet, making our seven mile walk to Milldale and back (incorporating Thorpe Cloud) very enjoyable. I recommend bringing cash/card to get yourself a treat at Polly's Cottage Takeaway in Milldale, the ice creams were great and the service was friendly.
