My first visit here, its a nice well lit,clean and spacious shop with good wheelchair access some parking available in a carpark directly in front of the premises.
All the usual chip shop staples are on the menu, including Pucka pie.Nice friendly staff and service.
Credit cards are accepted and telephone orders are welcome.
They have a 5???????????????????? food hygiene rating.

I ordered a regular Haddock,chips and large peas to takeaway. The fish is fried to order here.
The quality of the fish was very good???? and well sized for the price, the chips and peas also good sized. Good quality Haddock with plenty of flavour coated in a tasty thin crispy batter. ????
I paid £8.70 for my meal.
I have used the same chippy for years.
Just lately been very disappointed on a good few occasions.
So time for a change.
Happened to be passing “the plaice” on trinity road. So I decided to call in and give it a try.
Really pleased I did.
Very friendly staff. Even on a really scorching hot summer day.
Placed my order and waited for the fish to be freshly cooked. Personally I prefer it this way. You know it hasn’t been sat on the shelf for ages.
The fish was beautifully cooked and the batter was perfect.
Nice chips and lovely mushy peas accompanied the fish.
My wife also commented that it was really nice.
Looking forward to the next time I visit. I think I will become a regular visitor.

Ps. When the fish is this good, it would be nice to have a jumbo option.

Just moved back to the area and found the best chippy in the town.All freshly cooked. I can see this as a weekly treat ,prices comparable to anywhere. Staff friendly and polite.
I went today to this chippy, I ordered sausage chips and gravy.
The chips were awful, the sausage wa so greesey and the scraps were horrendous!
After I'd eaten it, wasn't pleasant when I got home and was sick about 10 times! Still feeling it now! I can believe how horrible it is!
Really will not be going again ????
The chips are always well fried and the scraps are crunchy not soggy. Mushy peas are tasty too. Very friendly.
Had a platter to share today. Piping hot. The fishcakes were to die for. Excellent and good value for money. Keith was very friendly and went the extra mile x
First time tonight was recommended and we both really enjoyed a lovely meal so far best chippy. Well done ????
Absolutely awful!!!! The fryers were obviously not cleaned in a week or more, the fish was almost black, but soggy. The mushy peas were watery and the scraps were black. Fishcakes obviously not seen a fish in their life! The chips werent too bad though.
