I don't think I have ever tasted bacon so delicious. I was fortunate enough to visit the lovely little town of Alford for a cycling course recently and all morning the local candidates were raving about "The Piggery". Its a funny name and I thought, "What can be so special about a bacon roll?" Well! Let me tell you. I was oohing and aahing with every mouthful ! Truly amazing. Mark the owner rears his own stock and smokes his own bacon with a wide variety of exotic flavours that have to be experienced to be believed. Not advisable for vegetarians unless you have decided to cease being vegetarian. The person who gave 3 stars because they had to queue should take a look at themselves and be grateful they have this on their doorstep. I'll be travelling 90 miles and if I have to queue when I get their I will still be counting my blessings. See you soon Mark.
Every time I'm in the Aberdeenshire area, a trip to Piggery Smokery is on the list. Perfectly cured bacon, delicious for some at home cooking or on one of the delicious in-house rolls. Highly recommend 'the silencer'. Coffee is an absolute hit, and there are plenty of delicious local and homemade baked goods to choose from. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Great local spot, will be back soon!
We stopped today to grab a bite. The hot chocolate is delicious. Bacon is homemade and very impressed when they got leaves for my salad from the plant. Could I ask for something more fresh? The cute space at the back sorrounded by their allotment made the experience even better. The staff were more than friendly and their fury buddy is so cute. Thanks for making our day !!!!
Popped out for our breakfast today and it was fantastic, we both had bacon rolls that were on the specials menu and wow ….words can’t explain how good they were along with fresh coffee and an iced coffee it just set us up for the day We left with our tummy’s full and a few packs of bacon to. We were also persuaded to try the Honey Cake , but feeling full from our breakfast we opted to purchase a piece to take home. We had it later in the afternoon and it is so lovely and creamy ….would recommend a visit if you have not been before ????
We went ate in twice on our visit to Alford as well as getting bacon, olives, cake and coffees to take away. All food was yummy! The staff, especially Theresa were awesome! Super friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the products. Atmosphere was chill on our first visit with Theresa and young guy with dark curly hair (sorry didn't catch your name) they were both great! Would recommend to all who love bacon! ❤
Dropped in when just opening. Owner was very helpful and said he'd put a coffee on for us, which was delicious. We then decided to wait and get the mushroom bacon roll which was amazing. Owner was obviously very passionate and knowledgeable about his product and was more than helpful.
Would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND and will certainly be back next time I'm through.
Wonderful service and delicious food. Bit of a tight space, but whatever. Bacon is delicious, loads of options to choose from, rolls were fresh and soft. Latte was also excellent. Well worth the stop.

Superb bacon rolls and pretty good coffee too. You can also buy the bacon to take home which can be a challenge as they do quite a few different kinds to choose from. Not cheap but I'd say you get what you pay for and the #1 thing for me is no white froth or water when you fry it.
