Stopped by en route home to Merseyside, we needed haggis for a charity Burns night. Bought six fantastic haggis and some pies, steak and black pudding and scotch pies. Wow! So glad we did! The pies were really meaty and delicious, even cold. The haggis went down a storm and funds were raised for the RNLI. As we were leaving the butcher stopped us and gave us a quality tote bag to raffle off in support of the charity! Highly recommend ????????
Popped into this butchers, on the way back to Manchester from Edinburgh, the the gentleman who served us was very welcoming and friendly, we bought some morning rolls, a couple of pies, and a traditional haggis, all of which were very nice, the haggis in particular was superb, one of the best I've had. We will definitely be returning, thank you.
Excellent traditional butcher shop . I always pop in when I am passing, staff are very welcoming.
I got traditional haggis today!
Well worth visiting! Highly recommend
Brilliant butcher always stop for slice sausage on way back to Wales.
Great bunch if guys
Great butchers and the staff are lovely. On our way to Edinburgh the last bank holiday weekend we called off to get some meat, the motorhome fridge was full of lovely meat so on the way back home we stocked up again with haggis, Scottish sausage, eggs etc. It soon got eaten and shared between the family, so this week my friend was there for a festival and brought me the biggest piece of square Scottish sausage back to the lakes. Git to be one of the best butchers we have visited
Looks a fantastic butcher shop with happy staff, I decided to go in and buy a few things, I bought the lasagna and macaroni haggis, and black garlic chicken and chicken sweet and sour, the lasagna was seriously bland, and the same with the macaroni and haggis, as for the other items they where a lot better, would I go back probably not, I’ve been better butchers in the borders and eastlothian. You need to spice the lasagna and macaroni up, sorry but this is my opinion.
On our way home after a week near Biggar, decided to get some onion pies, scotch pies and a one pound steak pie, from W Ovens in Biggar
Scotch pies nice and spicy
Onion pies very tasty
Steak pie was the best steak pie I have ever eaten (76 year old). Should have bought another.
Will definitely be buying more in the future. I live over two hundred miles from Biggar, so won't be a weekly shop.
Gorgeous lorne sausage, black pudding and haggis, and lovely lovely staff. Will return!
