Oval cafe is a cafe I have frequented for 22 years being based next door. Lovely omelettes bacon and egg rolls and double egg chips and bean. I am somewhat a creature of habit. Service is great, but then I am used to the proprietor's sense of humour.
I rarely go out for breakfast, in fact, hardly ever. But today I thought I'd try the local cafe as I've just move into the area. I came here because of the high ratings and it's locality.
Having travelled extensively all through Britain over the past 7 years, I can honestly say this was probably one of the worst Full English Breakfasts I've ever been served.
For a start, it was not freshly cooked. The bacon was cold and tough and the sausage was about the same. Both looked as if they had been cooked beforehand and left on the bain-marie to dry out. The eggs were only offered as fried with no option for an alternative. The mushrooms and hash browns were ok but there was a severe lack of love in this dish and for £12 I expected a bit more. The coffee was mediocre at best. While not necessarily required for a full English, a serving of black pudding would have been welcomed.
Not impressed, will not be going back. There are plenty of other local cafes more deserving of my hard earned cash.
Not bad at all. Scrambled eggs on toast with a side of bacon went down a treat. Well prepared in tasty granary bread c will defo be coming back!
Excellent cafe for breakfast. Owner takes the orders, cooks the food and serves! Very versitile! Very enjoyable!
Excellent prices and quality. Variety and flavour. Either if you want to eat there or take it to go. Love that opens really early for a good coffee too.

small plate of food, customer service isn’t there, the guy is too busy flirting with builders, place is small. Over priced and confusing menu. Toast wasn’t even toast it was soggy bread with butter slapped on. First and last time here only popped in because I got off at oval station I’ll stick to my usual ????????
