First time eating from this chip shop, found out recently I am celiac and saw they do gluten free options. The choice is great and they take great care and attention to dealing with dietrey requirements. Upon entering it was one of those rare feelings of being warmly welcomed even there customers was friendly and spoke to you, such a rarity these days.
Lovely selection of VW ornaments and memorabilia to look at whilst waiting for your food. The staff were really friendly and it just felt like a proper good old fashioned fish and chip shop. Food was stunning even the gluten free options. First time having gluten free fish and chips and it was spot on.
The kind lady even let my daughter have two lollipops! It made her day was all she spoke about on way home and she wants to try food from there also as it was just my wife and me tonight as the kids had MC Donald's.
So all in all a definite repeat visit from me and my family and my new go to fish and chip shop. It's a 5 minute drive from in Truro but worth it.
I don't know what they put in there gluten free curry sauce but it's beautiful.

What an incredible fish & chip shop. The food was exceptional - the lightest and crispiest batter, stunning fish and sausages along with the chips
On top of the food the service was impeccable. We were welcomed with open arms even though they were having a tricky night with a broken fryer with orders non stop! But with the quality of the food and great service and friendliness you can see why they are so popular.
10/10 would go out of our way to come back here!

Such great people, friendly and happy, my kids love going and chatting. This is what a family chipshop should be. Your not just standing in a queue and being served by a robot. You can chat and laugh. What a great atmosphere. Go you won't regret it, and the food is great as it's cooked in front of you. Been to loads around Cornwall and Our plaice is best I been to in twenty years here.
Best fish and chips we have ever had. Fish melts in the mouth, chips were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. We had table service, staff are very accommodating and the atmosphere is as if you are at home. Top notch! Would definitely recommend. 20 out of 10 stars!
This is my favourite fish and chip shop!
The owners are friendly and chatty and I can’t get enough of the beautifully crispy and tasty gluten free batter! WOW. The gluten free fish and chips are just perfect here. The homemade gravy is so flavourful and the battered Mars bars (also available with gluten free batter, but mind that the Mars bars have barley in) are incredible too!
My son tells me that the jumbo sausages and normal chips are amazing and he gobbled them up! Highly recommend this beautiful little place, but do call up to order, as they get busy!!
Fantastic chippy. A proper piece of fish served with fantastic customer service. All cooked to order so piping hot and super fresh.. Can’t beat this chippy. Keep up the good work guys.. You are a cracking team serving cracking food!!
We cannot recommend Our Plaice highly enough, the best chip shop we've ever been to! The service was very good, our food was tasty and I was able to get sweet potato fries! ,The potions were generous and there was a great selection on the menu, Very good value for money too!
