Quality Haddock and Chips from here today.
Firstly the chips were what looked to be blanched leaving them crispy on the outer and smooth on the inside.
The fish was cooked really well with a nice thin batter.
Prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are massive.
The guy frying and serving was extremely friendly, welcoming each customer with a smile.
I would definitely recommend this place.
Seems much more dynamic than old owners; pretty busy on Thursday early evening. Enjoyable fish, plenty of chips, scraps in separate bag (!) and decent mushy peas. Good value by today's standards. Varied menu. Cards accepted.
Tonight's tea was from 'one of each' on mill street Norton. Fish pieces, chips, curry sauce and peas.
Great friendly service, good tunes whilst being served, the full shop shows the reputation of the food.

Fantastic service.
Very clean white fish and batter that envelops the fish, but does not cling to it. So, spot on.
Large portions, so great value.
Cooked to order, so expect a little wait. But we'll worth it, and time filled with some great music or friendly chat with servers.
Recommended.
Now Under new management Has a very big choice menu all freshly cooked while you wait & different portion sizes with different sides give it a try I was not disappointed
Been there most Fridays. since new owners taken over, I've been there twice in two months. Everything thing is fine, apart from the chips. Feels and tastes like there yesterday chips and have just been warmed up. Very very dry and hard. I may give it another try, if no improvement I'll find another place.
Had one of my best dinners in York in a long time, pride myself to be a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to fish and chips as I’ve been around York plenty times and this takes my top three… Also big thank you to the new owners for being so lovely and accommodating , definitely going here every Friday, thank you guys!
