I stayed for 5 nights at the Old Castle Farm on a motorbike touring holiday. Dave and Mandy were very welcoming and I felt I was a guest in their home which was really nice. Their guest house is a 10 minute walk into the centre of town and there was off-street parking for my bike in a secluded area which was great from a security point of view. My room was large, warm and well appointed with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was also large with a reasonable shower. Breakfast choice was very good and the food delicious. The wifi and TV worked fine. All in all, a very comfortable stay. Thanks!
Spent a month here whilst away for placement, Mandy and david have been nothing but incredible since I arrived, nothing has been too much trouble and they are always on hand when needed and polite also. Breakfast in the morning is freshly cooked and great portions, also no waiting around so nice and quick service. Throughout my time there I was in a few different rooms and each one of them were very cosy and comfortable, own bathroom with shower. Would highly recommend and would definitely return, thankyou for your fantastic hospitality!
Very much enjoyed my stay. Excellent breakfast and nice, large room and bathroom. Clean, warm, and comfortable. Nice owners and daughter - very helpful if you need local tips. It’s very close to a Traws Cymru bus stop, which is really convenient when you don’t have a car - the bus drops you right at the foot of the Brecon Beacon’s best known peaks.
Thank you, hope to come back sometime!
A group of 6 of us stayed for 2 nights . Perfect stay and the breakfast was lovely 10/10.. ||Close enough to walk into the centre of Brecon and safe parking around the back ????????||I would certainly stay again if I come back to Brecon . ||Sorry if one of our group was noisy in the morning.. he has no volume control . |
We stayed in rooms 11 and 12 for two weeks and had a lovely experience. Mandy and the family couldn’t do enough to help us, including fixing a water leak in the bathroom within 12 hours of me reporting it, and catering to our dietary requirements. We loved the hot breakfasts every morning.
The only issue was that rooms 11 and 12 are in the attic and my partner who is tall was constantly banging his head on the sloped ceilings and roof beams. I thought the rooms were full of character but he’s got a headache!
Stayed here with my husband and we had a wonderful stay.
Mandy, Amy and David were all so very friendly and helpful.
Amy giving helpful advice on where to visit and her recommendations were spot on. Thank you.
Breakfast is exceptional and could not have been happier with our choice of accommodation. Hoping to visit again. Thank you all so much.
Can not fault this place. It’s a small family run business and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome during your stay. Rooms were nice and comfortable and the breakfast was great. Really good value for money.
We stayed here in August for three nights in the family room (bedroom 3). It was a very good size and our children are 17 and 20. The location was quiet and approximately 15 minutes walk from town. Breakfasts were superb, lots of lovely choices along with a cooked breakfast. Our only criticism is we do like thinner duvets especially in the summer, after the first night we slept under the duvet covers on their own, nice touch having blankets in the room as well. Overall a lovely B and B and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
