Went here with my other half for a Sunday roast. It was really quiet when we went there - which was a bit offputting - but the food was really good. In comparison with other carvery's that I've been to, the only thing that let it down was that you couldn't help yourself to roast potatoes (the chef was very generous so that was fine anyway) and the gravy was a bit thin. We both had turkey and the amount of meat served on each plate was really generous.
We had 2 roasts and 2 pints of OJ and lemonade and the drinks added £10.30 to the bill (assuming the meals were £9.95 as advertised) which feels a tad expensive.
Although I wasn’t a regular I used to go on the lash in there quite often and always received a warm welcome and a nice pint.
A warm welcome met my family as we had spent the afternoon at camber sands and was travelling back to Tunbridge wells. All the staff interacting with the kids and kept them happy. We all had meals in the nice garden which is also dog friendly given the amount of water bowls around.
The food was to a high standard and decent prices for the quality and freshness of the produce.
I would return and will definitely visit again!
We popped in bank holiday Monday. Husband and boy had the burgers. They said they were great, tasted beefy and not at all dry. Home made chips were great. I had Brie ploughman's. Nice warm roll, all I'd say is I'd like more salad. Toilets sparkling. Would go again.
Food is good value and the Harveys was cold, on a hot day. The overall atmosphere and service is very Toby Carvery/Harvester but without the corporate guff. Good for quick catch up with friends, but not somewhere special.
Took my family here for dinner this evening. Although it took a little while for the food to arrive, the food was very good. Service was ok, and the atmosphere was friendly too. A hot fire in the hearth; and despite the match being on in the bar, the noise levels weren't overpowering and the clientèle were all very friendly.
My husband had scampi and chips but they were actually frozen potato wedges. All a bit overcooked. I had ploughmans. The salad was old underneath but overall quite well presented. The place looks neglected and needs attention.
Amazing food, great ale and large selection of spirits. Great place to spend a winters evening sitting by the inglenook fire. Everyone’s so welcoming.
