Disappointing visit to this cafe today. We ordered two "the local" breakfasts. Whilst we waited for our lunch I witnessed one of the staff adding a selection of salad bits to two separate sandwiches, without gloves! I am aware that gloves are not essential but to use fingers to transfer firstly lettuce and then cucumber etc I don't think that looks very nice or hygienic. I suppose it's just down to personal standards.
When our meals came, I was taken back by the presentation. It was just piled on the plate, which incidently were enamel. Not very pretty but I guess that doesn't count.
The sourdough toast didn't look as if it has seen a toaster. I had two slithers of something burnt on my plate, which I just placed on the side. My husband couldn't cut into his black pudding as burnt on one side, and the "crispy"potato was just cold boiled pots reheated but " caught" on the underside. I also question the contents of the tomato sauce bottles. It stated Heinz on the bottle, not like I buy and very vinigary.
Very disappointing overall.
Oh, and the menus posted on the web site have out of date prices.
First time here. Had two local breakfasts which were freshly cooked, quality ingredients, and decent breakfast size. Good coffee and made us nice milky coffees as requested. Reasonably priced too. Will be back
Best place for a coffee in Abergavenny. If you've got any sense, go for a cooked breakfast! Or if you're being good, the toast is brilliant.
Nosh Deli Cafe is new in Abergavenny and does the best Welsh breakfast I’ve had in the town so far. Called “The Local”, it had freshly fried potatoes, fresh and tasty mushrooms and tomatoes, bacon, black pudding, egg sausage and beans, sourcing all its ingredients from the farms, bakeries and butchers in the surrounding area eg the meats are from Neil Powell, need I say more? It’s worth seeking out this cute cafe tucked away inside the Market Hall on the right. They do a range of deli rolls, soups and cakes, will be back to try these! Staff are lovely, with local art on the walls and a cosy atmosphere.
Have just had the most amazing Buddha Bowl for lunch. The salads were freshly made and really full of flavour. The bowl was so big I only finished it all with the help of my partner! And all that for less than the price of a roll! I can thoroughly recommend this place. Really friendly service too.
Nosh Deli was a delicious experience, lovely atmosphere and great value for money. Highly recommend for delicious food and drinks.
We waited ages and ages for our meals and I couldn't even eat half of my mushroom and spinach toastie. I love salt on my food but this was like every item in the toastie was salted more than the whole dish should be. Really disappointing as the flavour sounded really nice.
Spacious area with room for pushchairs and wheelchairs however no highchairs for babies or toddlers
5 star breakfast at resonable prices. Great produce excellently cooked with friendly service.
