Amazing place with a wide variety of dishes (including specials)! I got the tuna toastie and it was scrumptious!!! Nice calm place right by Colchester Castle with very nice staff! The only thing that slightly disappointed me was the amount of time it took for the food to be delivered even though it wasn’t packed. Yet amazing place be sure to come!
Often come on here as a stop off for a light bite whilst pottering about in town, and the experience each time has been consistent: great food, great coffee, and always a pleasant service and atmosphere going on. It’s a slightly quite spot just off the Main Street where it can be quite relaxing in the small venue to grab a drink and some food and people watch.
After our putting game, in Castle Park, we dropped in here for lunch. Spoilt for choice, the children opted for Pasta Carbonara n parmesan, and Sausage sandwich washed down with shakes n cream. I went for the daily special the Seafood Risotto, with Cod, haddock, smoked hake, peas and parmesan. Wow wow, So tasty, obviously a really good chef. The prices were really good too. The staff are all obliging and very friendly. Would definitely come back and highly recommend a visit 10/10 for me.
Absolutely disgusting way of speaking to me, felt as though it was racially motivated due to the staff talking to other customers who were white completely fine. And then they wonder why they’re a small business. Actually embarrassing that these staff think they have the audacity to speak to customers like that.
Lovely little gem, casual place, nicely decorated, lovely staff. Great little independent local café. Usually have a sandwich (very nicely made, good bread, not value bread!) or a Niçoise salad, or one of their specials on the day. Long may it thrive!

There is such a variety of options on the menu and the hot beverage range leaves you wondering what to choose! Thank you to Phil and staff for a lovely visit.
