Popped in after an appointment with my other half. Had coffees as well as a bacon sarnie and a toasted teacake, both excellent. Took some brownies for a takeaway which were very tasty. Friendly staff too. As another reviewer pointed out it is cash only, not such a hardship as their are 2 cash machines within 10 metres of the cafe.
Nice breakfast but should be pointed out that it was CASH ONLY. Maybe there was an issue with the card machine (but couldn't see a machine anyway) - in 2024 paying by card should be the first choice available to customers.
Got my food to takeaway. All very nice. Great portion sizes and flavour. Would definitely go again!

Delicious home made soup and then a superb choice of cakes to have with my coffee ..... and all served by helpful and pleasant staff. I will be back very soon! ????????
Sandwich said it would be on bloomer bread and came on a bread cake. When I asked why the waitress argued with me and said “well do you want it or not?”… rubbish quality sandwich. Could have made it myself for a couple of pounds. Drinks took forever to come and came after our food!?? Asked for a jug of hot water for my babies bottle as she was crying, waitress completely forgot (even though my baby was screaming place down not sure how you’d forget) and went outside for a sit down and a chat with some other members of staff. She only remembered when I stood up and went into the cafe she shouted “shit!” And ran inside behind me to get it me. Another customer carried hot water to my table as I had the baby in my arms. Plates didn’t get cleared when finished, had to ask for milk with the tea? Over all just poor and won’t return at all
Popped in for breakfast, fantastic breakfast and a warm northern welcome.
I am cyclist and I like convenience spread out place since the covid, I know it always looked after the place staff are very polite and welcoming, helpful, and always there for others like to look after people needs and have a pleasant sales to serve people s happiness, there is many things I have bought in fenwicks and like to smell nice, it’s very nice to see the beautiful woman with nice smile s and cheerful. And simply enjoy a coffee treat calm quiet place.
