You don’t get bakeries like this in England! Brownies are incredible compared to others on the market (and I’ve had a lot of brownies) Doughnuts, sprinkle cake and fresh cream cakes also deserve a special mention. Rolls and bread are perfect.
Staff hard working and busy all the time. Excellent to see businesses like this thriving in Wales. Even without tourists, the locals will queue round the corner for baked goods from here. A lovely example of Welsh fresh, honest food and hospitality. (Also worth noting - it’s cheap!)
Amazing cakes, cherry and rhubarb being my favourite, but I also love the apple almond one. My son loved the sprinkles bun and fudge cake. Really nice and helpful staff, who packed all the cakes safely. Thank you and see you next time
We holiday in North Wales every year and coming to Newell’s is always the top of our list. Cannot get over the prices for some of the best cakes I’ve ever had. They do fantastic sandwich rolls that are great for walks, and a huge variety of cakes and buns. A few savoury pieces as well liked pies, sausage rolls and bakes.
There is always a queue out the door, and don’t let the other reviews fool you - the ladies are always SUPER busy and trying to serve their regular local customers and the tourists pouring in. I’ve never had rude customer service here, they’re super friendly!
This is probably my favourite bakery, I love the classics, no muss no fuss, and the Chelsea Buns and Ice Fingers are too die for!

Really expensive and there are no prices listed. £4.50 for 2 doughnut cream cakes and actually there are better cakes sold at Tesco's. A complete rip off. Staff were not particularly friendly though!
Stood in the shop and watched the lady behind the counter slowly make her way through a large order written on paper. She didn’t even look up to acknowledge I was there, smile or give me any signs she wanted my custom. Another lady who worked in the bakery was bringing in pallets of bread and also ignored me. I was the ONLY person in the shop and I stood there for 5 mins. It felt like they were waiting for me to leave, which I did. It was the rudest experience I’ve had in any shop. I am here on holiday from England and read another review about this shop from a lady who had a similar experience and were classed as ‘foreign’. I’m not saying I experienced any racism but I definitely did not feel welcome by any member of staff. To be blatantly ignored by everyone who works in a shop is an absolute first. I hope people read this and take note, whether it be people who work there, the owners of the shop or any potential customers.

Poor daytime venue. Cappuccino has to be the worst ever and food is appalling. Shame as I had high hopes when they opened….pate is small portion and served with cheap bread….you can’t call yourself a bistro with that. Jacket potato looked old and not much bigger than a new potato….what a shame.
Rude staff, says on the shop outside one customer in shop my dad was in the queue and a local walked straight in the shop so he decided to do so as thought well if the rule doesn’t apply to them then why should it apply to anyone else and then we he staff and customer was saying how rude foreign people was just walking in when customers was in the shop. Well how rude of the staff and customer was from the local area that they can call an English man foreign when he is coming in to give a local business more business. All I can say is if you are in the area on holiday and are foreign which we all are when we go anywhere new then avoid this shop told my dad not to have bought anything they don’t deserve customers if they can speak like that about anyone, foreign or not you shouldn’t be in business. Not acceptable comments or behaviour.
