Delicious fresh fish, perfectly cooked, juicy and full of flavor.
Ordered cod and chips, small chips,
3 customers after us received their more complicated orders before us,
Took us nearly 20 minutes for our order when everyone else was a few minutes.
The food was nothing special, chips not even cooked and fish just barely done.
Staff unbothered by us waiting without a reasonable explanation,
Go elsewhere or grab a meal deal, better value honestly.
Went in there after a day on the beach 2 of us 3 has cod and chips 1 saveloy and chips and drinks come to over £60 the fish was soggy and inedible, saveloy had no taste chips mediocre. Staff wasn't friendly at all definitely not worth a visit.
Ordered an All day Breakfast, Small Chips, Curry sauce and a children’s Sausage Chips and Beans. The egg on the All day breakfast was served mushy so i asked for another one in which it came mushy again with the yolk all over the plate. Sausage looked grey on both the ADB and the children’s meal. Only half good thing was the Curry sauce but the price was ridiculous for what was served. For what was served it was very overpriced- £21.35! Wouldn’t go back again and wouldn’t recommend. Have to add that they were drinking Coke behind the counter and looked very unprofessional to anyone coming in.
Located on the beach strip. Read a few good reviews so thought about trying this place out. The food itself was pretty average, nothing extra ordinary. 2 portions of cod fish and chips and 2 lemonades came to about £30 ish. We visted with my 2 year old sons, late lunch, so the place wasn't that busy. (June 2023). After we had finished, there were probably only 3 people in the restaurant. We asked for the bill, paid and started to walk out. A lady (assuming the manager) had just sat down to eat, came running after us and shouted, "excuse me sir, you have to pay" in a tone where everyone in the restaurant clearly heard, mind you, we were walking with my 2 year olds walking too, so you can imagine the pace and slow speed. We showed the receipt that we had paid in a normal tone and the lady then in a normal tone said 'oh right, sorry then' and walked back to her lunch. Due to this reason, the rating is what it is. If you can't keep tabs on a few customers, hate to think what it will be like when busy. Up till the end, the service was fine, and the waitresses were lovely.
Went to Southend for a day out with the family. Got there parked up and went had some fun. Got a little hungry around 2pm and didn't want the stuff inside the theme park so walked along the front and found Neptune's. Got sat down straight away, staff were friendly but rushed, ordered some grub that would actually fill us up amd as expected it did. All the family were full. Decent, tasty food. Knocked off 1 star as the place could do with a refurb, lick of paint, hvac system cleaned on ceiling grid
A big group of us did a charity bike ride from London and just picked a restaurant. Lucky choice I guess.
The staff in my option were amazing, there was quite a few of us and they have no problem serving us quickly.
There was no attitude when we asked for extra's and more and more people kept coming.
Food was nice and I never heard any complaints from anyone who ate here at the same time
They were polite and friendly from start to end
Will go again when I visit Southend
Pretty average fish and chips shop the service is OK but needs to be better.
