Overall, delicious food with excellent coffee … I would have given 5* if the service is good but the lady server was not friendly at all with bad attitude …
Two great breakfasts for 3 of us. Hettie the waitress was brilliant, the food was really good. Only winge is that, while you could order either a big or small non- veg breakfast, yoi could only order a BIG vegetarian breakfast "because a small one isn't on the till"!! Please adjust your till so I dint need to leave half my veg breakfast next time????
Went with my mother and the cappuccino was beautiful & delicious. Unfortunately I ordered a soup, which wasn't nice or what I'd expected at all! Told the server immediately after that first spoonful but she said we'd still need to pay for it. Now I'd understand that if I'd have actually eaten it, so was it really worth it to charge us for the soup when it means we won't ever go back there for food?? Distinct lack of customer service for such a nice location, but that's okay as that's plenty other cafes nearby.
Visited Sunday 7th, myself and my husband. First time here. Food was excellent, very tasty and generous portions. The menu is my sort of thing, excellent choices. Coffee good too, it was busy but we must have timed it right, as soon as we sat down others came in and we're told it was full so it's obviously a popular place. I'd say it's not the most welcoming cafe I've been to but as the food was really good, I wasn't too bothered about that. We will visit again when we're in Barnard Castle.
The staff are just so friendly.
I usually have either a sausage and egg or bacon and egg sandwich. Both are perfect and you normally get 2 eggs where most other cafes will give you 1.
Me and my mam called in today for lunch and the lady didn't say hi just gave us a nod and told us in a stern voice to pick a 2 seat table only. Then we waited and she never came to take our order. She came up stairs 3 times and never came to ask our order so We decide to leave as we were very hungry.
I will say that the food there is very nice and a good price but the service is bad and not friendly at all.
Lovely little café. Nice menu at good prices and food came out very quick and tasted very nice. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Gets very busy around lunch time. Takes card payments, has outdoor seating and range of items for takeaway such as cakes!
