Excellent food. Even if you don't like fish you will like it here. Its fresh and cooked in the proper way whatever fish it is. Superb!!! I even had two fish courses and I don't usually eat fish. Scallops and smoked salmon. Yum yum yum. Can't wait to eat here again. The service was also excellent and waiters/ waitresses came back to take drinks orders etc regularly. You don't get that in Yorkshire. This has to be a Jen 10 out of 10. The best of the best . We only ate here so I cant comment on anything else.
I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The room, whilst basic, have everything you need, a comfortable bed and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The highlight of our visit however was by far the food. Portions are a great size and the tastiest food we’ve had on our trip so far. Would definitely love to come back here again.
Pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face working here when our group turned up on our annual bike trip. A brilliant family run motel. The young ladies serving our group at dinner were absolutely brilliant. Helpful and good humoured. The food that night was incredible. Maybe even the best out of the 4 places we stayed at on this trip. Good bar atmosphere too. Breakfast was also brilliant. A couple of guys suggested they felt the rooms and toilet/showers a bit small but considering what we wanted from them was basically a place to sleep and wash up we decided there was actually nothing to complain about. My bed was comfortable and its a quiet location. Great sleep. Russell, Tony and his family couldn't have made us more welcome or done more for us. Even if they're fully booked next year, we'll definitely try to eat there. Best meal available in Ullapool just now I think
Have never been her before. Booked in for one night as catching the ferry in the morning. Lovely informative hosts, good double room, had a meal at the Morefield. Must say the meal was great and good value for money. They allowed our dogs in the outside area (which has heaters and TV screens ). My husband said haggis bonbons were devine . Salmon was beautiful ????. Looking forward to breakfast ???? x
Having booked a room we arrived on our motorbikes freezing cold and hungry. The room was warm and clean and the showers were hot, the staff were very helpful and took our wet jackets and helmets to dry in the hotel overnight and let us put the rest in the tumble dryer. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent, beer selection was great and well kept .Breakfast was even better, can not rate this place high enough and we will be back next year thanks again
Stayed for 1 night after a week of wild camping. Rooms have everything you need and are spotless, great to be able to park directly outside your room. Owner friendly and although we didn’t use the bar/ restaurant it has a menu with lots of choice for all. Will definitely be back if in the area again.
Please note this review is on the food and drink only, as I did not stay here.
This place was recommended by our B&B guesthouse host, SpinDrift, as being no frill decently priced food.
I had to book a table as the day before it was fully booked. When we arrived walked straight into the bar area and were greeted by the restaurant staff who confirmed our booking. We waited like 5 minutes before being seated during which we were able to order our drinks at the bar area.
We ordered two sirloin steaks which came with onion rings, mushroom and chips. There is another version which also comes with black pudding and veggies for an extra £5 (Balmoral Sirloin Steak) but this was enough.
We didn't wait long before the steak was presented in front of us.
My steak was medium rare and cooked to perfection. There was a 2 inch vein/connection tissue which would probably put some people off but not the chefs fault as you couldn't see this until you cut into it. My friends Sirloin was well done and he really enjoyed it.
I would say the chips were like take away chips twice fried, I personally didn't enjoy those chips, some were over fried and had that look that the over-fried chips locked in the oil. Chef get a tattle peeler and chipper.Overall a pleasant visit and good food and drink. Staff were pleasant and attentive.
Found this place in the good pub guide and I can see why it is in there! Run my a lovely family the bar had ales on draft amd the chef knows his was around the kitchen. Simple dishes cooked to absolute perfection. Visited here on both the nights we stayed on Ullapool as it was excellent
