Best KPortal Reviews
I was a fan of Happy China, so I was quite worried by all the negative reviews for Ming's. However when we ordered takeaway we found the food still to be good- the chicken balls were crispy and made from sliced chicken, the chicken satay was delicious. I collected my order in person and it was waiting for me when I arrived. Staff were friendly and welcoming. All in all, I will continue to use Ming's and would recommend it if you are looking for a Chinese takeaway.
I've previous lived in Hong Kong, and am firmly of the opinion that there are really only about ten decent Chinese restaurants in the UK, the large majority of which are in the vicinity of Gerrard St.
These guys don't make the list, but the food is decent quality, and relatively authentic for a suburban restaurant that needs to cater to local tastes.
Ming's are my go-to Chinese locally, and I've not been disappointed so far. Might just get the extra star if they added Ho Fun to the menu...
Have used Mings several times so don’t even need a menu to order. . Ordered a take away tonight and was told it was £36.70. The driver turned up and also told me it was £36.70. I gave him £37. Ate the food, the chicken with blackbean sauce had NO chicken in it which in itself was disappointing. The rest of the food was not good either, tasteless and rubbery. We then said we thought it was a lot of money for what we had so used the menu that we had just been given to add up our dishes. They came to £26.70. Rang to complain and they denied this. The driver spoke to me on the phone and said no you only gave me £27!! They would not do anything about it. They are just lying conmen especially the driver who outright lied. Will NEVER use these again. My advice is to avoid this restaurant especially the delivery take away as they are out to rip you off!!! They are trying to trade off the previous owner who would never have let this sort of thing happen. I only gave one star as there was no option for zero stars.
Worst food ever, ribs were super dry with no flavour, chicken satay was oily like it had been re-fried, would definitely not be ever eating here in my life again. The crispy duck was dreadful like the duck had been boiled and tasted mushy. Staff did question why did not complete all our food and we told them the honest truth but nothing was done to rectify our bad experience. Thus probably also explains why the restaurant wasn't busy on Saturday night.
Mings Bexley Village - We have just had delivery and I’ve ordered vermicelli noodles with chicken, rather than the staff asking if I want Singapore noodles they just delivered plain boring noodles with oily chicken. When I called them they said you never told us it’s Singapore noodles...well they got no website and no menu anywhere to see what I am asking for! We use to go to the restaurant with friends and family at least twice a week! We’ll never again! Rude!
Happy China made me sad. Service was good and polite, food however was cold and dry, the rib starters came out dry as a bone, the satay chicken was oily, the duck main was dry and half was edible, only 2 dishes came out nice and hot but the flavour and taste was off.
Ordered for the first time since it’s changeover of owners. Excellent food, very tasty, good portions and not greasy in the slightest. Quick delivery. Enjoyed by all and will be ordering again, seems to be the one to beat now in Bexley.
I previously gave Mings a glowing review, but they have a new chef who's unable to cook the full menu, and rather lacklustre front of house. A shame, as this was briefly a local favourite.
