After reading the reviews I decided to have my car serviced and MOT'd at Mikes Autos today. Excellent customer service and advice received in relation to future servicing needs in a relaxed, knowledgeable, friendly and professional manner, so much so my wife who was with me will now be using this garage in the future as will I. The price was also very good. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mike's Autos at all.

Used mike for the last 10yrs wouldn't trust anybody else with my cars.
Unfortunately, this was not the garage for me. Too many misunderstandings which lead to a decrease in confidence with this garage so I decided to take my vehicle elsewhere.
On the off chance of driving past, I visited this garage due to having a minor knocking noise on the front end of my car which only occurs when i go over pot holes. I was told to book it in which would be around 10 days later, which was fine for me. I asked about the cost's involved , because we don't know what the reason for the knocking noise would be, understandably I was told they would check over my car and give me a quote for any repairs that needed to be completed to rectify the issue.
I asked if their was a charge for checking my car over, the guy said, "we don't normally charge" which is fairness, I was surprised by, as most garages will easily charge for checking over any car.
I booked in my car and attended my booking today, was told to park out side the front, I waited 30 odd minutes, and nobody came over to me. I walked over to reception, and to see what was going on, I was told to leave my keys and they will give me a call with a quote.
When I booked this appointment, I was not advised I had to leave my keys and they would call me with a quote. however Just to come in at 9 o'clock and they will look at my car.
Had I have known I had to leave my keys & car with them, I could have arranged a lift to take me home. The guy then said what was I expecting? "To come in, get a quote and then drive off" (a bit sarcastically)
I explained, I was not expecting them to be a charity, I understand people need to make a living especially when I have family members who run small businesses too.
I'm the one who was informed prior to the booking that "They don't charge for having a look at my car". The guy then said "So am i going to get the work done after I get the quote"?
I explained , I don't know . If the quote was going to be 4,5,£600 quid? I said no because I have not budgeted for this, but if its £60,£70,£80? then probably yes. It all depends on how much the quote will be .
He explained, if I don't get the work done then a charge of £20 will be requested. I absolutely agree with this, I would not expect any garage to diagnose my car for free, £20 is very reasonable in my opinion.
In fairness, this garage is probably really good for anybody who gets any work done, it was just unfortunate their were too many misunderstandings and I didn't want to take a chance on getting hit with an unexpected bill, and any more misunderstandings, so I decided against this garage .
Have been using Mikes Autos for a number of years for my wife's Galaxy. Mikes Ford knowledge is 2nd to none and the prices are excellent. I have recommended to family and friends who also take their ford vehicles to Mike
Mike had the car in, quickly diagnosed the problem, (which other mechanics failed to find), called me with a price and fixed the car the same afternoon. Great service and super job done! Would recommend and will definitely use again. Cheers Mike
Mike is amazing.
took my transit to him with botched injector system. he quickly pointed out what a previous mechanic had done completely wrong. this is now fixed and what a difference. he gave my van a full service, a fuel system clean and an oil flush he also found the electrical fault witch no one was interested in looking for and also managed to sort out my back brakes. I have to say if your needing a genius of a mechanic also truly honest and trust worthy. then use this guy.

I received magnificent service during my MOT and Car Service with Mike on my Volvo C30. Explained everything nice and clearly to me what work was required to be completed (me not knowing a huge deal about cars) and even showed me the parts that had been to swapped out when I came to collect, which was a really nice touch.
Would highly recommend to anyone, he has gained a customer for life.
I took my 2011 diesel Ford CMax to Mike, to see what was causing it's poor 'lumpy' running. He quickly diagnosed the problem as 2 faulty fuel injectors. He called me, we discussed a solution, and 2 working days later, he called to say the car was ready. Following our discussions, Mike had fitted and re-programmed 4 new injectors. What a change!!
My car starts easier, feels smoother, pulls like a train and has got unbelievable fuel economy.....I got 65+ mpg on a motorway run last night!
My car feels like it's had a new engine, and is a pleasure to drive now.
