First time experience at the extended hours clinic.
The receptionist service was good. Polite staff.
The lady taking bloods could improve. The care factor was a question mark for me. I wanted to take a medicine for my breathing but she said i could have taken it outside the waiting area, but i felt the symptoms as soon as i walked over to her to the consultation room . I told her asthma symptoms can come on any time then she answered in a defensive way that she knows all about asthma as she conducts asthma reviews.
She did not tell me about the 'sharp prick', before putting the needle in my arm, my arm is still aching from the needle which doesnt usually happen to me.
I asked her a basic question about results of the blood test, the way she answered was not very warm. I dont work for so so, so i cant give you the answer. I work for so so.
Now adays no one has time everything seems so robotic. As if we only just care for ourselves. Working in the care sector i think staff need to be kinder and more concerned about patients. Even a phlebotomist. I understand people have their own stress and problems and take it out on others but its not an excuse to make other people feel bad. I work in the mental health sector so I know that by the way we greet one another impact our life and so on.
Areas of improvement indeed.
Had been for a blood test this morning. The phlebotomist who took my blood was very cold and rude. No greetings or even a smile whatsoever. She has attitude. Over that she didn’t even wipe the are with a sterile wipe. I don't think she changes her gloves either. And she literally pulled my hand and sticked it in as if she was doing me a favour by drawing my blood. And it hurt. I have a bruise already. I wont recommend her to ANYONE!
Having been a patient with this service for a number of years in the past, seeing some good consultants and a most patient and effective psychotherapist, in the context of longer term management of a severe mental illness, I think I am qualified to give a fair review of this community clinic. As this is very much on the frontline of the mental health-care services you understand it's a bit much to expect the kind of customer service one would on the high street. There are distressed people, that are confused people, and with limited staff levels I think they are doing the best they can. My feeling is that if you are properly ill, you'll get the help you need, like the NHS in general, but the worried-well and those with personality disorders are not going to be given a red carpet! It's a little rough and ready with the echoic conservatory sitting room area, narrow creaky old corridors inside, but it is in a nice quiet location, and is quite anonymous on the exterior, with pretty gardens and trees all around.
My GP told me I would have phone appointment with this service at 12.00. At 1.30 I got the call and was told I needed face to face appointment at 2.20, location details to arrive by text. That didn't happen. 2 hours later and much time driving around trying to find the right place, the receptionist from there phoned to say she noticed the text hadn't been sent !!! Could I come in tomorrow. Unacceptable.
My son Got blood test today at 7:00pmThe nurse was so rude She have no manners how to talk .Very bad experience. I am so sad they are not working free . I am very disappointed with that lady .How people can behave like this. She should change her job.
Been several times for blood tests out of hours. Staff are freindly and never had a long wait.
The worse experience ever. I come here for blood test. I was called in to have my blood test and the lady there wasn't going to wear the gloves, so I told her to put the gloves on. She was very angry just because I asked her to put gloves. However she took the blood and after she send the blood for lab without name, DOB, nothing…So unprofessional
Thank you Dr Salma Ali for understanding my condition so quickly and making swift decisions to refer me to the Hospital. I would have suffered a lot without your prompt intervention on Monday, 12 June. I am eternally grateful for your kindness and care. Mead House provided the service that most NHS services cannot provide anymore. Thank you!
