Had a few minor problems previously but have always been rectified and as we are local we have gone back. But tonight takes the chip.
Food was cold and part of the order missing. That was sorted so fine. But the state of the customer area was disgusting. We were there for at least half an hour if not more and not once did we see any member of staff come out and even attempt to clean the area. Multiple food trays on tables, bin over flowing and multiple slip hazards on the floor. Looks like someone has been standing on the seats also.
It wasn’t busy and there were plenty of staff on duty. They were just too busy talking to their friends at the counter or to each other out the back to bother doing any cleaning. And when they did come from behind the counter to wander round and try to look busy they just ignored the mess.
We will be travelling to the Thirsk one from now on I’m afraid.
Definitely the worst McDonald's I've ever been to, so bad we've had to say we won't go there again and that's after giving it a couple of chances.
Food is always cold, fries seem like they're from the previous night, burgers with hand prints on them.
We used to go every Monday on our way to something else but we stopped bothering after a few weeks. Cold food every time. Nearly every table covered with rubbish, bins overflowing so you couldnt even clean them yourself. Teenage staff who couldn't give a damn messing about in the kitchen absolutely no one out front. We don't bother anymore.
Typical McD's, we arrived during the lul period, so the restaurant was near empty.
The reason for the low star is both orders where cold and tasted like it had been standing for a while.
The staff were friendly and looked to be keeping themselves busy tiding the restaurant.
A standard Macdonald's but with less. Few ppl in which was a blessing but the staff were smoking or messing around or swearing at each other...looked like a place staff get trained. A bit shoddy tbh.
Asked for the new fajita wrap, sorry the button doesn’t work on the till if u want it order through the app but was already in the drive through.
Waited ages for food we got put in a bay, whilst 4 cars passed I went in to ask for it. Staff outside just standing smoking and talking the staff inside looked like they were all scratching their heads not knowing what to do. Restaurant area was a mess. When I got eventually go my food… small order it was cold, chips half full so went back in I said what’s took so long “we got lots of orders at once” hardly anyone in, no one in the drive. I said you are McDonald’s you should expect to be busy. For the amount of staff in there it was ridiculous. Bad management need to get someone in to wake them up and get some motivation going.
And if you like salt don’t need to ask for any extra, the chips were absolutely doused in it!
I’ve held-off from leaving a review as this place has recently opened, but after a few months, it’s beyond a joke. A general aire of confusion surrounds this McDonalds; orders wrong almost every time, staff arguing with each other, food under/overcooked, thrown together, missing ingredients. I’ve spent nearly 40 mins in drive through this evening, with a number of other drivers all waiting for our food (I ordered one burger!)
Everyone was getting frustrated at the waiting times. We waited 30 minutes for 2 meals. When it came it was cold. Both bins overflowing, tables a mess. They looked short staffed so this is a massive area macdonalds need to address urgently
