Best KPortal Reviews
Just got a chicken and halloumi wrap. It is very nice. I would recommend trying it out.
Very nice spot for a quick lunch. I like their chicken wraps.
Best wraps in London, hands down! There is always a queue around primary lunch time which is well worth the wait. Tends to calm down around 2. Super fresh ingredients, super prices and always my weekly treat. The avo and halloumi wrap with 'everything' is unbeatable. Team are also super friendly! A favourite.
On the fringes of Mayfair are a couple of streets that history has it written, were the pinnacle of London’s debauchery, a red light district set in a market of questionable character. Left it it’s wake are a series of Pubs and Restaurants all striving for that next level of exclusivity. However one or two truly break the mould by being the “back to basics” that give the simplest pleasures to us like days of old.
One such place is “Mayfair I”, a place that focuses on doing one thing and doing it well. While the proprietor has a friendly expression and courteous greeting, he knows his prices are just a blink in the eye of most of his clients ordering the wraps.
Oh those wraps, and now…they come with bacon.
Carefully pressed pieces of centre-cut bacon are cooked along with the eggs, all freshly performed in front of you while the wrap is laid out with various options such as cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes. Once you’ve got your three ingredients prepared they are folded over tightly with the special “Mayfair I” bread-knife fold and grilled once more altogether. The flavours are what you would expect, minus the heavy grease dripping down your fingers (+1 for the wrap then). You maybe consuming more bread than the standard bacon butty but you’ll do it thinking the opposite. Would I change anything, well while brown sauce in my book is a requirement with Bacon, you can’t help but feel slightly classically conditioned to want a little spice as you bite into the wrap. Perhaps next time some sneaky breakfast Chilli Sauce.
The Breakfast Wrap at Mayfair I – 4.5/5
