Very friendly team, who are knowledgeable about the vast selection of ice creams for sale.
At the time of visit, the queues were very long and they where operating 'Cash Only'
Yum! About a dozen flavors. It was the closest ice cream shop to the small public parking lot there. Fun to eat your ice cream and let the kids play in the playground across the street or look at the boats in the marina.
We were really excited to try mauds crepes. When we ordered we were told there would be a 15 minute wait which we didn’t mind. However, when it was our turn to be served we noticed that other tables who arrived after us were being served. When I questioned this we were told it was because they ordered hot drinks with their crepes. We ended up leaving with no crepes and and 2 very disappointed children. In my opinion people should be served in order of arrival and not what they order.
I love Mauds but the portions here have got ridiculous. The last 2 times i’ve went the tubs have been literally half empty, it makes for a very disappointing experience. Ballycastle mauds used to have the biggest portions about, it was the best!
Great tasting ice ream and beautiful surroundings for a wee dander.
Lovely ice-cream, very reasonable priced too especially compared to other ice-cream shops close by. It also has a court yard and tables behind it where you can also get crepes etc which we didn’t partake in.
Great variety of ice cream and having visited Maud's in other towns I was looking forward to a treat. However while I waited in the queue I noticed two of the staff swishing their long hair over one shoulder as they turned to the till, then flicking it over the other as they scooped the ice cream. Not a hairnet in sight and totally unhygienic and unacceptable. I reckon if a Food Inspector had come in they'd be closed down. I turned on my heels and left without buying. Prices are much too high as well. The mark-up on ice cream must be phenomenol. Really need to clean up their act.
