Problem going in huge queue that does not separate into takeaway or eat in. Food was lukewarm. Had seen a huge queue assumed food would be hot. I would try elsewhere. Very disappointed
2nd time here, had pie and chips first time and was so so. 2nd time got fish and chips with peas. They put peas all over everything and it was soggy. Didn’t eat the fish as it smelt bad and was rubbery. Everything here costs extra and it is very bland interior and even blander quality. If you cant reach fried food level of food then just give up altogether.
I won’t be going here again.
I would recommend any of the numerous places up the road in matlock bath instead or even
just go hungry rather than be disappointed by this place.
Exceptional good value. Small fish chips and peas only £7.70 to eat in! Portion was a good size for the average appetite. Formica tables. No frills but very good value for money. They also do gluten free. I would recommend.
Quick and easy service. Fresh delicious chips. Liked that you could add your own salt and vinegar. Paid on card. 30p for ketchup.

They have a one way layout from the entrance so the service is efficient. Staff is friendly when taking orders.
Our fish was over cooked & dry so I went back to explain to the staff and they happily accepted the comments and made a new one with better quality.

Busy place but there were plenty of staff who coped like a well oiled team so no long wait. I like busy chippies 'cos everything is hot and tastes just right. Good serving of chips and the steak pudding was hot and flavorsome with a good dousing of thick gravy. I chose to eat out as the weather was nice, and Matlock park is just a swallows flight away. Only had one cheeky pigeon arrived but he got nowt'
